Hello,

I am thinking of purchasing the Z1 Carbon engine cover. Before going at it - does anyone know if you have to remove the engine strut tower to be able to switch it out?

Thanks

Because there’s a channel for the strut bar and it fits pretty snug I assume the bar will need to be moved out of the way. Possibly one side can be removed and the other loosened and the new cover slid under, but that thats not going to save you much time or effort, if any at all.

i recommend anti-seize on the bolts before reattaching. I ended up buying a tap for my 350 as I believe 3 of the 4 holes ended up getting gnarled up over time, even being careful with them.

No you don't have to remove the strut bar just undo the bolts the front and rear cover lift off independently to each other that's only to remove the original one that comes with the car I'm not sure about the Z1 carbon fibre covers sorry if that's the question you're asking but by looking at the picture I'm pretty confident you will have to remove it to fit the Z1 carbon fibre cover.

It’s no problem to remove the Strut bar. But yes, I’d always completely remove it to avoid scratching the cover.
