Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2 / Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport R

As far as TW, the Dunlop is an 80 where the Goodyear is a 240.
Other than that, is it just me or do both of these come from the same mold?

Maybe different rubber compound or something as the Dunlop (to me) looks a bit deeper in the grooves but yeah, I would say they are the same mold.

Goodyear used to own Dunlop but comparing those two, visually, can't really tell the performance. Base mold could be the same, but that treadwear tells a lot about the rubber compounds. Anything less than 100TW is soft, race compound, will wear out a lot sooner, but not great in wet or snow conditions.

Although, these days Supras come from Austria, so not surprising I guess.

Actually Goodyear has a 240TW and an 80TW in this tire, I guess like Michelin with the PS Cup 2 that has an 240 and an 180.
Only a few sizes in 20 and 21 for this mold. Appears to be a very niche tire.

Keep in mind the treadwear ratings are subjective numbers for each tire manufacturer. And whether it's a 100 TW or not, none of the max performance summer tires will perform well in snow or rain. Hell, the R-compound tires I use for SCCA Majors racing are rated at 40 TW level and will hydroplane on a wet track. Snow? All these tires will be nightmarish below 40 degrees.
