I seem to have hit something (probably road debris) and dented the front bumper on my 2024 Nismo. Can PDR fix this? The paint was protected by PPF, but the actual plastic itself is dented. It's not super visible unless you know where to look, thankfully.

Sorry to see that, I think we have the same model. No such thing as PDR on plastic (PP). IF it’s a kiss like that. It needs body work. They have to take off the bumper, Plastic filler & paint, then they have to clearcoat the whole bumper, so… It’s probably just under (or exactly) your deductible if you find the right body shop. Get like 2-3 estimates and decide what to do.

On some dents, if they’re pushed in, you can take the bumper off, heat them up gently & pop the dent out. That’s about the only PDR with plastic. Metal dings are different. Won’t work for this situation. Source: Studied as an ACRT (Auto Collision Repair Tech) and have repaired PP bumpers.

I'm a body man too. I could get it pretty good looking with a heat gun but it will never be 100% without mud and paint.

Appreciate the responses. It's PPF'd as well, so the heat required to get the plastic maleable would probably melt the ppf and require replacement. I think I could try tapping it out, but I would have to remove my undertray to get a tool in there. I think I'll leave it alone, not worth doing anything to it.

You might be able to heat it with a hair dryer on high from the inside and hold a form pushed on the dent until it cools. But you’re going to have that paint kiss to touchup. As you say, I don’t apply heat directly to ppf.

I haven't seen any paint damage, so the PPF did its job.

Unless it's really bothering you, the last thing you want is body shop paint on ANY car.
When I bought my Z, dealer had to spend 3 hours buffing the cars (some shit$$ like glue, etc) were on it. The lower lip of the front bumper has marks that sometimes irritate me but I learn not to let the body shop touch anything that is considered minor.
