Why world a Nissan Dealership void all warranties on your vehicle if you let them install NISMO bolt on parts ? I understand ECU Programming and down pipes but Cold Air Intake , High Flow Exhaust and an Intercooler should be a full go if it is NISMO and installed by their techs.

They shouldn't... Did this happen to you, or are they stating they will?

I'd suggest trying another dealer local to you as that is not how warranties w/mods work. Especially when buying optional parts from them and paying them to install.

Thanks , I still have about 28,000 bumper to bumper left and then a lifetime powertrain warranty and don't want to mess that up.

Wow, that is one of the dumbest things I've heard a dealership do. This is the same old story of dealerships trying to do anything to make a buck because it's the only way a dealership can make money these days with sales as slow as they are. Nickel and diming for every damn thing.

Good luck. I think you will be able to find a dealership that will work with you.

Thanks, I am hoping it was because I mentioned the ECU , which I understand is a no fly zone, but I think the other stuff ( Cold Air, high flow exhaust, Intercooler all NISMO parts) should be approved. Waiting to hear back from them right now to see how they answer that.

Hmmm.... Nissan doesn't offer a lifetime powertrain warranty that I know of. Yes, the dealership will sell you one, but it's 3rd party.
If that's the case, the 3rd party warranty company will NOT honor any mods that are approved by the factory and allowed during OEM warranty.
3rd party warranties are the worst, they will find the smallest reason to void coverage.

If your warranty is, in fact, 3rd party, you're SOL on mods. In fact, TBH, I'd cancel the warranty if you can get your money back and move on with the mods you want.

It is offered by the dealership for free. It is backed by Nissan. That is why they spoke with the Nissan Powertrain Rep.
The service advisor said he thought it was fine but when Nissan got involved the Rep said all warranties would be voided.

I think that maybe it is the other parts that are NOT NISMO that is causing the problem. I am not really concerned (maybe a little) that the RC F bushings I swapped onto my IS 500 will cause a warranty issue if something goes wrong with my front suspension. But I guess it could.

I hope you don't have any issues with yours.
All the parts I want to add are NISMO brand that I want them to install. I have had others tell me they had them done with no issues.

Ask Google "does Nissan offer lifetime powertrain warranty" and get ready for some facts.

It's NOT backed by Nissan at all. It agrees to perform any covered repairs at a Nissan dealership. Totally different company with only the slightest relationship with Nissan

You are correct about the third party part. Still hard to walk away from a no charge powertrain warranty for me though. I am not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination.

This happens all the time. A common one is when dealerships install a lift, oversized wheels and other aftermarket parts on a new truck, they include the "free" warranty and sell it for a hefty markup. When the truck breaks, the owner finds out that the mods broke the truck and neither the OEM or "free" warranty covers it. People rightly get pissed because you'd think everything was kosher if you buy it brand new that way.

"Free warranty" and mods are mutually exclusive. It's not a big deal though, your OEM warranty coverage will probably be in effect with approved Nismo mods, but the mods definitely give the "free" warranty an excuse to outright cancel you.

I'm not real sure what the extent of mods you want to do, but I have personally been denied warranty on my dealership sourced lifetime warranty on my 2007 Titan. I have also seen other Titans with the lifetime warranty get denied coverage for something as simple as one wrong tire on the vehicle. A Titan owner got a flat, had to buy a tire out of town that didn't match the door jamb tire label, the tire shop didn't have the exact tire in stock and sold him an equivalent size that maintained the load and diameter of the stock tires to get him back on the road. He forgot about it and had an issue, the warranty adjuster came out and inspected the truck and denied the coverage.
