For those that wanna retrofit a spare....
Personally I would ALWAYS want a proper full spare tyre. I don't remember seeing mentioned anywhere what the new Z comes with. Laws in some countries will mean they have to come with a spare tyre of some sort (whether that is a silly 'space saver' or a full tyre).

Maybe this topic needs a title change:
The More Money Than Sense Guide: How to Completely Ruin a Perfectly Good Car. ;)
Some of you are waiting for your one to arrive and this guy is ripping one completely apart. :( It's a little bit like the fools who buy a brand new expensive phone or tablet device simply to then drop it off a building or run over it with a truck.

Not really. He's building a racecar, not driving it off a cliff.

^ I did say "a little bit". :)

BUT, if you're going to rip it almost completely to pieces anyway, it would be cheaper to get something other than a brand new (as yet unreleased) car.

Yeah, but this is great advertising for Nissan, and they obviously have to be all for it otherwise how would he have gotten his hands on it.

It'll be another example of what can happen with the car (an extreme end of the spectrum, sure), which will continue to help build hype for the launch and beyond. FD season starts next month iirc, so the timing is perfect.

I guess that depends on how recognisable it is and /or it has any "Nissan" logos on it once he's finished. :)

Are they using the VR38 engine primarily bc it's a port injection design or what? Another racing team converted the Supra B58 engine into port injection

I think he stated earlier that it’s the platform they are most familiar with. Makes gobs of power reliably. So for now, sticking with the VR38
