Well, I’m excited to be a part of this forum/community. The wife and I have owned quite a number of Nissan sports cars over the decades including 2 Nismo 370z’s. However, we moved away from our JDM sports cars around 7 years ago and embraced my love for Teutonic power (ala the four rings: Audi). I grew up loving fast Audi’s and VWs and for the last 5 1/2 years, we’ve been rocking a MKIII 8s TT RS as our sports car.

Well, with the warranty 6 months away from being done and the direction and future of the car at a crossroads, we decided it was the best move to trade it in and go back to my other love (and my wife’s first love), the Z. It didn’t hurt that the TT RS held its value incredibly well.

So without further ado, I’m proud to introduce our new addition to the stable, a 2024 RZ34 Nismo in stealth gray. We’ve affectionately named him “baby shark”.

I’ll miss the Audi but no regerts

, it feels like coming home to be back in a Z again and first impressions of the new nismo are excellent, it exceeded our expectations. We’ve got break in to get thru before I can give a real review of how it compares to both the TT RS and our old 370 Nismos.

Here’s some pics of our new Z Nismo as well as our old TT RS (was a great car).

thanks bud.
Yeah, Juno and I are super excited about our new Z. It feels like coming back home in a way lol.

yup, I was on the GTR forum as well. We really debated whether to go with the stealth gray or proceed with our order for a black Nismo and wait. In the end, we decided that the bird in hand was the way to go. I personally love the gray, once she saw it in person, wifey warmed up to it a lot.

Yeah I havent seen the color in person but it seems to really fluctuate between blue and gray tints depending on lighting. Makes sense as Nissan said the color is supposed to remind you if the sky and tarmac of a perfect track day!

on that’s super cool, I didn’t know that was their inspiration for the color! Now I’m even more pumped we got it. The fact it’s exclusively for Nismo vehicles was also cool. We’ve always had black Nismo Z’s, a ‘10 and a ‘13, so change was hard. 😆. I tried to reflect the different shades of the stealth gray in my pics. It changes color dramatically. It’s really blue under the sunlight and two or three (or more) shades darker and very gray at night.
Now all our cars are a shade of gray.

Very cool. Have always been jealous of the Audis flat bottom steering wheel and push start button on the wheel (and Audi interiors in general). Excited to hear your comparison of both.

One thing Audi does very well is their interiors, the materials, ergonomics, styling etc. The Z Nismo Recaros are more track focused and supportive vs the TT RS power heated alcantarra buckets. Interior build quality, while not terrible in the Nismo, isn’t playing in the same league as the Audi. Not surprising since the point of the Audi RS line is luxury high performance not building an all out track weapon. Msrp on the TT RS was 70-80k back when it was in production. Most were 75-80k range. So it’s in a slightly higher tier vs the Nismo. TT RS suspension in stock form is great on windy roads but with an experienced track driver, like my wife, it falls short and reveals its front wheel drive biased awd Haldex system. At her last hpde, wifey literally drove the back right tire half off the wheel in the in field at Daytona. Hence the dilemma of mod the crap out of the Audi or jump ship to 5he Nismo. All the shortcomings in the TT RS are easily fixable with aftermarket support just like any sports car, nothing is perfect sub 911 GT3 RS level cars. As an aside, the new 8Y rs3 ditched the Haldex awd for an electronic rear diff with a drift mode and it’s apparently glorious.
