Hey fam. So I purchased some Garage Line spacers last week. I installed them over the weekend and took the car out for a drive. Upon return I was walking around the car to look at the fitment and noticed the rear driver spacer was discolored. Anyone seen this before? Is this normal? Thank you for the help.

I figured out the issue..... White Crocs 😂 Nah, prob won't cause any problem besides looks. As long as there is still anodizing it should protect the aluminum even if its discolored. Have you tried reaching out to where you purchased them?

Ha ha you got me. So I reached out to the company and I am waiting for a response. A co worker thinks it might be something in my wheel detailer reacting with whatever coating is on the spacer. I didn’t think about that. So I will keep this post updated if anything negative happens. Thanks

If your co worker is correct, that is some strong wheel cleaner!! If you don't mind me asking, what is it?

It’s the new wheel cleaner from Geyon. It has iron remover in it.

Have you noticed anything bad since you installed your spacers?
I just did mine today and took the car out for a ride. I know there' something different in the way the car rides now but can't quite pint point it... It rides good... don't get me wrong. But there's definitely something different.

When you add spacers you are effectively changing the motion ratio of the suspension slightly by pushing the wheel out and increasing the leverage point for the shock / spring. So, yeah you may feel this if you are attuned to you car.

Did this damage the cars you've put spacers to?

Well, after more test drive, I decided to take the front spacers off the wheels. The test drive seemed to make the car bumpy, harder on the potholes. I felt that this reaction would wear and damage the suspension way faster and abnormally. And after learning about positive and negative scrub radius, I couldn't risk it.
Once I took the front spacers off, I took the car for a test drive and, sure enough, it was back to its original condition.
I left the rear spacers on the wheels. Tomorrow I plan on replacing the rear spacers with the ones I used for the front (20mm). The rears are (25mm).

20/25 is a bit wide for sure. I have 12/15 on my car.
