I just joined this forum to obtain your opinions on an inexpensive and easily reversible modification made to my 2024 Nissan Z. If there is significant interest I might consider providing the materials to others who like this new look to the front end.

Please ignore my responses in other threads. This topic certainly deserves a thread of its own.

Do tell. What are we looking at here?

Hello CPerdomo

Attached is a stock photo of the unmodified front end to compare with a picture I took of my 2024 Z with accentuated bottom grill and silver Z emblem. Hope this helps.

Interesting comment bpeckham

This is the first forum that I joined so I am not sure how to respond. Maybe some background?

I recently bought the new Z after owning a 350 Z since its introduction in 2003. I like many others was a little iffy on the look of the 2024 Z front end and searched to see if there were any reasonably priced mods available.

I came up with the pictured solution at a materials cost of way under $50 including the custom made silver Z emblem which was designed after trial and error research to avoid interfering with the radar unit. The fact that the mod can be removed and/or replaced in 10-15 min was important to me because I like the original front end look too.

My interest is not commercial at this stage because I have an all consuming real job. But if there was a large number of requests from other new Z owners/enthusiasts I might consider some mechanism for providing the appropriately sized materials needed.

Mainly wanted to share an image of my mod with new Z folks.

No worries. I was just a little concerned. PDF files are often a vector for a computer virus.

Congratulations on the new Z.

Curious to know what you actually did, but I understand if you don't want to share to keep the idea for possible commercial reasons.

I think it looks interesting, but I'm not sure I'd do this without knowing what it was. I'm one of those annoying people who researches everything before I buy something.

Welcome to the forum. Nice creativity. I like the Z emblem in the middle, but not sure about the other parts.

From what I can see, the finish of the bottom parts and Z emblem is different than the upper grill ovals, they look lighter, shinier, or glossier. If the finishes matched the upper grille portion, it would flow nicer.

Do you plan to provide an option for just the Z emblem or different finishes?

Thanks for the input Mike

The grill mod was made using off-the-shelf products so a perfect match could be hard to find but might be out there. I will keep in mind looking for a toned down version if I ever need more material. In real life and normal lighting the difference is not that obvious, at least to me.

The emblem can be virtually anything but you have to supply the artwork, work online with an artist to tweak it and order a batch of 50 before you know what it actually looks like. I tried 3 times before settling on this waterproof silver base version with black overtones Z. I am not sure what alternative emblem would work here. Suggestions?

Lines are off, finish is off, I get the point of filling that void but it looks like you had to cut and bend a new charcoal grill for this.....grill lol.

No grill cutting, bending or painting involved. No new grill added- simply accentuated the existing charcoal grill that is already there.

Once the materials were easily prepared their application took me about 15 minutes. A more technically skilled and careful person could probably do a better job.

I know of a few things that can be easily improved but for now I like the look as is and have left this mod in place since the summer. Reversal back to the original front end would take less than 5 min.
