I saw this video yesterday, and thought I'd share it with everyone here.

Seems like this is only an issue in the infinitis so far, can't find anyone with a Z complaining about it.

I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on my coolant levels now, tho!

I'll have to check my Blackstone oil report. Wonder if it reports if water is found in the oil?

If my memory serves me well, I have heard 2 or more shops say that most of the part numbers are the same as the previous motor in the Q50/60. I think the turbos were the only thing that was different. Only time will tell with new Z owners.

There is one Z Proto getting a new engine, so issue seems to be carried on? Even though AMS have mentioned the heads are a different part in the Z.

@brandon_buildsDIY
Did Nissan ever update this? Does a 2024 still when the same head as a 2016?

@AMSPerformance

Actually, yes. To your first question, which would then be a no to your second. There is an updated part number where we have not yet seen the issue. But that does not definitively mean the issue is rectified, just that we have not seen it yet in our testing

Seriously regretting getting a Z Nismo now so much, knew I should've got a Supra!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, until you have to. I was aware of this potential issue before I bought my car as well. I will for sure be looking into an extending warranty based on the outcome of future issues.

Hopefully, Nissan will still be around to address some of these potential problems in the future.

I was not aware of this as a potential issue before I bought mine. Ideally this is a non issue on the Z. I've had two UOA's from blackstone out of the two oil changes I've done (about to send off a third) and there's been nothing alarming.

But then again, with 11,000 miles on the car that isn't saying much for a problem that shouldn't happen at all.
