You don't need a heat exchanger for your tune. They shouldn't be doing repeated pulls to heat soak.

You should do a heat exchanger for when you are beating on it.

I just did a remote tune from Sydney Australia with Sonictuned, it was a very smooth process and the car feels phenomenal now. The VR30 platform is pretty unknown here, and while there are good tuners locally, it's much better to go with someone that knows the platform (IMO).

Side note: I ran catted FDPs without a tune or CEL for a number of weeks before my tune arrived.
awesome - are you a/t or m/t? Any issues finding a decent road to do 4th gear pulls (assuming m/t) for the datalog? How many pulls did it take?

my tuner said its not needed for the tune - but I’m going to need if after tuning -lol.

it will make the tuning process smoother, once heat soaked on the dyno, you will be done or waiting for it cool down.

M/T, luckily I have a fairly quiet highway nearby and just went out late one weeknight for the 4th gear pull. It is a bit scary however.

I did an idle log, and two 3rd gear pulls each in a different map. Then I got sent a revision and did 3rd and 4th gear pulls, now I have the final and need to do 3rd and 4th again to validate.

Kracka did I see your Yellow Z getting Dyno tuned by Racebox on youtube? Your car is a celebrity now!

You did! That's my car.

Kracka,

Do you find all that added power and torque useable around town. You on PS4's; how's traction top of first and second?

I'm still on the factory Bridgestones, which are basically greasy ice in 1st & 2nd, will spin through 3rd, then finally hook in 4th!

2-piece brake rotors and new rubbers are my next two upcoming mods. I'm looking at some Kumhos, or maybe the Michelins. I had Michelins on my C7 & C8 and they were fine. If I do Michelins this time though, it'll like be the all-seasons just to maximize the driving season(s) regardless of weather (I had my dad put these in run-flat version on his C6 & C7, but he's also up in northern Minnesota).

In terms of the power around town...this car loves the TX tollways :D
For normal city or stop-n-go driving though, it drives just as smooth & easy as stock. I have no issues letting my wife take it out to run errands and have a little fun along the way. RaceBox also set me up with map-switching so I can easily dial it back to stock boost levels.

There are several tuners in north Florida but having done business with four I can tell you they are a "special" bunch......

I have looked up three in the Jacksonville area and I didn't get any warm fuzzy feelings based on the info online. I may just do Sonictuned for now and maybe try to get it on a reputable dyno tuner if I decide to go with any future mods past the "bolt ons" that I have now. Right now I am tied up with alot of work travel so just waiting for a window to go through the remote tuning process with Sonic.
