This is very sad 32 old died was the passenger, car was projected into the tree must of been going blistering fast. Wasn’t the GT600 tyres either they are Michelins.
Scary to see a RZ34 platform crumble like that.

If the driver or passengers friends or family are here my condolences! ❤

Didn’t think the door was strong enough built… A-pillar yes, possibly the B which is C but side on (tree trunk) would be a catastrophic no.

Very interesting video. I Tell ya, these cars feel so stable that makes us get overconfident when we drive them. It's very easy to go faster than we should. I've had a few scares with my Nismo already.

Japan's roads are smooth and well maintained, I've been there. To be that much destroyed I'm sure overspeeding recklessness caused it, way beyond the limit of any stock Z.

That sent a chill down my spine. The map looks a lot like a fun road in my area.

It just goes to show that despite the efforts of all the engineers - of the cars, the roads, the guardrails - we the drivers can still screw it all up. And our passengers deserve better.

I'm no car accident specialist, but my $0.02:
1. Dude was FLYING...I mean Fuh-LYing!
2. The car doesn't look filthy, so I assume it grabbed the tree and stopped. If it had fallen down that hill/mountain?(?) the driver would be dead too.
3. The fact that it hit that tree and caved in the passenger side that much, yet the wheels on that side of the car are still basically parallel, is a testament to the rigidity of the platform. Many cars would be bent like a pretzel after that hit.

Can you please tell us about some of scares while driving your Nismo.
One time, I was going to make a left turn... but instead of waiting for the upcoming cars I went ahead and floored it. It was a weird turn... I got some over-steering and I over corrected so the tail started to slip. I was about to hit the sidewalk. The car corrected somehow. This is the best explanation I can come up with. I went home with my whole body shaking. It would've been an expensive repair.
Another time was when I took it to the track. The first set of laps were great. I was able to see how this car feels like on train rails. I kept pushing it. But once the second and third set of laps came, the leader started to go faster. I think I was taking the turns faster then I should have. I didn't take the track control off or nothing; other than switching to sport mode. It felt as if the tires were old. A couple of times I slammed the brakes and it felt as if the car would start to spin.
When I daily drive it, I take the corners fast and sharp; it's the only way to enjoy a car like the Nismo without getting stopped for speeding. A couple of times I got the tail to spin... but I corrected it. I grew up with rear drive cars. I even had a couple of 72 Mustangs when I lived in NY and drove them in the snow and ice. But the Nismo is a different animal. It behaves as it has a mind of its own. I've had it for about six months and I'm still getting used to it.

To survive this wow. God was with you!
Yes, I'm grateful to have gotten out of this with only a fractured rib. My awareness is super sensitive to my surroundings after this.

I was going through some mountain roads, came over a hill and hit some washed out gravel and the car went crazy, jumping a covert and flipped end over end a couple of times, didn't even have time to realize what was happening. I just remember seeing the sky and feeling the impact every time the car hit the ground.
