45mm 2027 stock dampers vs. Nismo coil-over suspension install (Performance trim)

Hi all -
I understand that Nissan increased the dampers from 40mm to 45mm for the Performance and Nismo trims in 2027. I've elected to install the Nismo coil-over suspension on my new 2027 Z Performance, do those parts ALSO have the larger dampers, or did I just downgrade my suspension?

I do want the capability to adjust ride height, but do not plan to do much tracking and hoping for the best ride quality possible.

Interested if anyone knows the spec on the coil-overs and what I might expect.
Please advise.

May be a good question for our daimyo @MCN1SMO who has some pretty prominent and useful connections.

I don't know this for fact, but I doubt Nissan, or whoever is in control of the US NISMO aftermarket would respec the shock bodies to mirror changes to OEM, at least not this quickly...but I could be wrong. Doesn't mean the US NISMO kit is better/worse than OEM though. Not keeping track, but I haven't taken note of much or maybe anything negative about the NISMO coilovers here, and you have to swap OEM out to get adjustability anyway.

Based on what I have/haven't heard about the US NISMO coilovers, I think they're a pretty good deal. I've heard a lot more negativity about a lot of other kits that are more expensive.

Measure the bodies when you get them. What I don't know is if that measurement is the inner diameter of the tube or the outer. If inner, these measurements would be a tad low, but close enough to tell.
40mm is 1.57", and circumference would be 126mm or 4.96"
45mm is 1.77", and circumference would be 141mm or 5.55"

you want to adjust ride height you're going to need to adjust your alignment each time

yeah there is no way the after market NISMO USA stuff as been touched for 2027 tweaks. those parts kind of are what they are.

Quality aftermarket dampeners are usually already large diameter monotubes. The best ride quality is probably with the stock performance dampeners you already have; coil overs almost always are more performance oriented and stiffer.

So I’ve since received the car and while I have no comparison to the stock Performance suspension, this feels really good. I previously had a TTS on sport springs and this is worlds better than that ride.

As I add spacers, I’m likely to invest in FUCA and Rear Adj Control Arms. Was thinking Z1 but please advise if there’s better options.
