For some reason the 2023 Z (Aus spec ~ Performance) seems lacking in base. I and many other have noticed this. I've just reached 2000km and it seems to have gotten a bit better but still not as good as the 370Z

I own a 2009 370Z (Aus spec ~ Nav with Bose sound)

My idea was to see if the 370Z sub:
  • would fit in
  • had the same plug
  • sounded better in the Z
If so I'd source another 370Z sub and use it in the Z.

My finding are:
  • the subs are the same shape and size and they feel about the same weight
  • they do not have the same plug so I couldn't plug it in to test
  • 370Z appears to have a 6 pin plug, the Z appears to have a 4 pin plug
    • A quick google search and it appears the 4 pin sub / part no. has been used since 2015 on 370Zs and other Nissan models (need confirmation by a 2015+ 370Z owner)
  • the 370Z sub sits in the spare wheel. I'm pretty sure this is the difference with wheel acting as secondary enclosure. I did not transfer over the wheel to test ;)

Also to note:
  • it looks like the spare wheel, jack and all the trim from a 370Z would fit in the Z if you desired to have a spare

I'm a little late to this thread, but I did get a 370Z spare tire for my 2023 Z for our cross country trip in June (https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/t...-to-californa-no-interstates.1967/#post-60876)

The 370Z space saver spare fits fine in the 2023Z and Bose sub fits great into that spare tire.

As I spent too many months around jet engines on an aircraft carrier, I'm not the best judge of audio quality :D, but I read somewhere on the internet that the sub sounds better in the spare tire than the foam.

I recently had to use the spare after picking up a screw in one of the rear tires...

First remove the foam insert holding the subwoofer in the new Z:

Then just install the spare tire (the 18" space saver spare from a 370Z - lots available on eBay), insert the Bose sub and screw down the center holding screw. (the threaded mount from the 370Z is still there in the new Z. You can see that the side foam pieces are from the 370Z and have the cutouts for tire jacks, etc.
