Did you have this done? If so, what were your thoughts before and after?

Yes, it was mandatory after new sub install. I think the artificial noise must come mainly through the sub and with the new, more powerful, unit installed it was literally deafening.

The fake noises sounded good, I have to admit, but didn't sound like a turbo V6... So it always kinda annoyed me.
I did the sub and exhaust at pretty much the same time, so hard impression on if I'd just switched them off without any other mods. I would say though, it's about a 90 second fux at your dealer. Turn it off and test it, you can always turn back on

Did you notice if they had to plug something into the care to disable it or if they could do it via the menu somehow?

Plug in.
They must have some sort of dealer software...

It's definitely not in a menu on the infotainment... Which sucks.

After disabling the Noise Cancellation, does it make the car/ambiance sound different? Also, does it change how the speakers outputs frequencies? Like were they flat before and are they now wildly bassy or does it add treble?

I disabled both ANC and ASE. I think it made the car sound more natural.

Sorry. Hearing deficits. I'm not the guy to ask. I'm just glad the fake noise is gone.

General reviews of the sound system are pretty lackluster.
I'm thinking of taking my Z straight to my local car audio place to install some Focal K2's.

I'm not even necessarily a big fan of the brand, but it's like a perfect colour match to the ikazuchi yellow

How do the focals sound compared to other speakers like Pioneer, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, etc. from the aftermarket? Never hard of this brand before to be honest.

I had my ANC and ASE turned off and the fake sound is gone. Maybe a little more tire noise now but not bothersome, and we'll have to see what happens with better tires anyway.

I hate the head unit. Has anybody found another that fits and works with the SW controls?

Yes, perfectly.
The plug is different though, so had to cut and reattach the wiring. Also added a fuse to be safe.

As I've been telling everyone though, you'll need to take the car to Nissan to turn off artificial engine noise!

I'd also like to know; there's so little bass I was certain I didn't even have a sub in my NISMO

I think it would be a

Kenwood KSC-PSW10ST

Seems to be the only Kenwood one on market at the moment.
