Delayed until this summer. I knew this was going to happen. The automotive supply chain is in horrible shape right now.

2023 Nissan Z U.S. Release Date Delayed until Summer
Originally scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. this spring, the Z’s launch has been pushed back due to “unforeseen supply chain issues.”

  • The 2023 Nissan Z’s arrival date in the United States has been delayed from the spring to the summer of 2022.
  • Nissan cited “unforeseen supply chain issues” as the reason for the setback.
  • The Z will be powered by a 400-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, and it should start around $40,000.
In a statement, a Nissan representative told Car and Driver that “due to unforeseen supply chain issues that are affecting the entire industry, there has been a slight delay to the summer of 2022.” Nissan’s consumer website still lists “spring 2022” as the launch date.

I thought this would happen, wasn't really expecting to see a car in Australia until October. I will just waiting, at this stage it will make a nice birthday present at the end of the year

With this new information, I expect you boys and girls to have a very financially responsible summer. As strong as the urge for a hot girl or hot boy summer may be (whatever the hell that means), you must resist. You must save for Z. Z is coming. Z is almost here. Z is good. Z is life.

Thanks for the posting. I doubt many of us are too surprised. I also won't be surprised if it gets pushed back until fall/winter. Just gives me more time to save money for it.

First in with: "That's it, I'm out!"

Actually I'm not...
Earlier I was predicting, 2024 as the soonest a Z would appear in my driveway. This latest news makes that seem even more likely.

I'm not out. But I'm not in either. I guess it's more like, we'll see what's happening a few years from now.

On the plus side, this latest news makes the new tire/wheel package I'd been eyeing for my current sports car, an easier decision. Onward with enjoying this summer.
