400z is nissan s internal technical name and Z is just a gotomarket name the marketing department came up with later, they didnt match in this case but there s nothing unusual in it

we would hope the stealerships are not that dumb, but these are the same people who keep calling it 400z...

i could also see a dealer getting a yellow sport trim thinking it's a proto and overpricing it accordingly. the same kind of dealer that sold the zupr4 2.0 as a 3.0 premium...it happened several times.

Nissan trademarked just the "Z" logo in Canada on 3-12-2020 and Motortrend reported on it one week later.

They speculated: "Much about Nissan's upcoming Z replacement remains under wraps. That said, the new model is expected to bear the name 400Z, signaling a possible displacement increase for its V-6 engine."

My Dealer emailed me today and said still no information for them in Canada. He said hoping to hear something in September. So I've just stopped checking and worrying about this car. I'm 3rd in the allocation queue and it'll arrive when it arrives.
