Exactly the problem is not really the wait but the lack of information. We are still with the same information given to us at the reveal of the car in mid august. Also the funny thing is they are still testing the cars also. You show a production car in mid august with little to no information i get it but its pretty much march 1st and have received nothing but a commercial ?

But I will tell you what I do know...My Regional GM of the Infiniti/Nissan dealer group here in Canada spent all of last week with Nissan leadership in San Diego. He emailed me this morning and updated me that Senior Leadership are still not committing to production runs, delivery or pricing. That's more solid information than most of the pure conjecture that is reported on here.

My patience is wearing thin. We were told Spring release, then this comes and skirts that line to the max. I don't appreciate this marketing campaign at all with tiny reveals here and there for over a year. I bet the roll out when it finally comes this summer will be paltry at best. This crutch of chip shortages is weak and tired. There's inventory on the lots, not tens of each car but still. I have been excited for this car for over a year but I think that's passed now. The 2023 Supra will have manual trans, guess Toyota will be getting my money instead. And I bet they'll have a few in stock before the new Z does.

What is more ludicrous is that my Canadian dealer just got back from hanging with Nissan leadership in San Diego and his report completely contradicts this unsubstantiated slide with the timeline. Also suspicious, is the fact that within an hour it popped up on two independent journalists/blogger sites who just ran with it. Not a lot of critical thinking.

Given the paucity of news on the Z I proceeded to go and watch all the reviews on the Zupra. I would only buy a manual and it is completely annoying that it is a BMW, albeit top end, cylinders and finished and tuned by Toyota, but a Beammer still the same. But a manual could be persuasive. So I went on the local dealership site today here in Vancouver and the 3.0L Premium with a slight paint up grade came to $72,000 Canadian Dollars. That's too much for that car. I'd rather a Porsche. I will hold out for the Z because that will be my 4th one and I think this one is going to be a good one. But it has been exasperating.

If you like the MkV then it's a great alternative to the Z, even more so now that SOP for the M/T version supposedly starts in July. Enjoy the Supra and be sure to join our sister forum.

Right, that is way too much if accurate. That would be what, about 57k in US dollars? That would be pushing it for even the Nismo version IMO.

i did and was offered a fall delivery but subject to change if circumstances change too.

They should be testing it for at least a year to sort out the kinks, but obviously that doesn't happen in real life. They test it for like 3 months and sell the first few batches to the "first adopters".

Obviously sometimes it's not good to be a guinea pig but somebody got to. That ain't me ... lol --I'll wait

The way I look at it, it's a proven chassis, manual transmission, and engine, just not all put together in the same car previously. The electronic goodies (dash, infotainment) are relatively new, but they are already installed in other Nissan vehicles so any bugs are being worked out.

The only new things I'm worried about are:
1. The automatic transmission, which I'm not really worried about since I'm getting a manual
2. The new automated production line in the Tochigi plant, which I admit does concern me a bit. But that's what warranties and lemon laws are for, if it comes to that.

I'll be a guinea pig, but only with no ADM.

I'd add to the above that a few known issues such as the CSC one have been fixed in the new car. And it will be getting the Exedy clutch used in the last year or two of Z production; when I test drove that it was way better than the original.

To the worry list though I also have an addition: the switch from hydraulic PS to EPS. I loved the feel of the hydraulic on the 370Z, Nissan had better not eff that up or I am out.
