True though Nissan never officially confirmed anything is coming until recently. It was just all of us (including myself) getting impatient for info. It's another thing if they drop a concept and take years to roll it out like the NSX or even the Supra since everyone assumed the FT1 was a...
It's been a LONG time since I got this excited about seeing a prototype mule. Hope Nissan doesn't get all tricky with the mules and put different bodies on the Z35 chassis.
Anyone remember when they put a chopped up S15 Silvia body on the 350Z mule? They also used a R34 Skyline body at some...
If there's multiple engines offered, not placing a number in the name might also help the forum community here get along better....
Yea who am I kidding, there's probably always going to be annoying engine displacement snobs on forums who hate on the lower models.
If it makes it more expensive then I don't think they'd put the technology / materials into the car. Sports coupes are already a hard sell and not like the Z is flying off the shelves at current pricing as it is.
Yessss! My prayers have been answered. Every other manufacturer seemed to be focusing on weight reduction but I hadn't seen much from Nissan on this until now. The Z35 is probably still far enough out in development to benefit from anything that comes of this Lightweighting Program.
More power + less weight is every manufacturer's dream formula. But few are able to achieve that without jacking up the price :(
I'm really hoping that they just go forced induction too instead of downsizing to a 4 cylinder. Sorry if I offend any 4 cylinder engined car owners but it's simply...
Man I was afraid that this was going to happen. Nissan is following other manufacturers like BMW now in 'enhancing' the sound of the engine by pumping it through the speakers. It kinda makes sense for BMW's because they're all turbo engined now but why does the 370Z need it?!! Argh
What about Porsche? Classic designs don't go out of fashion. It's been a nice progression for each generation of the Z and you can always tell where it came from - I like that. I don't want a new design that loses all of its heritage qualities.
Just because they didn't feature the Z in that commercial doesnt mean they don't care about the Z. They could be working on it full steam behind the scenes. We'll see it teased and talked about when it's ready.
It's not really a concept. This thing could be put into production in just a few months probably. And could be sold for just a year possibly. Z35 introduction at the end of 2016 still looks possible IMO.
It'll come with a turbo 100% guaranteed. First off, the GT-R is turbo'd so Nissan has no problems going forced induction on their sports cars.
But also because 1) no way the Z35 gets a V8, 2) which means it will get a 6 or a 4 cylinder and 3) no way it gets a naturally aspirated V6 (nobody is...
Love these crazy rumors lol. That site makes up the most ridiculous $hit. Unfortunately it actually gets reposted and reported by other sites.
I will bet my first child that it doesn't launch as a turbo hybrid convertible.
It would be such a shame to not have a next generation Z car that benefits from all the R&D from the GT-R. To sink all those costs and not build a volume sports car to recoup some of it is insane.
See my post in the other 'lighter smaller' thread. They've had the same 2 sports cars (Z and GT-R) in their lineup since 2007. By not making the IDX and Eau Rouge doesn't mean they're getting softer IMO it just means they're not looking to making more sporty cars currently.
Fact that they might have canned the IDX but will keep the Z going should tell us which they view as more important. And they're not really shunning sports cars when you consider that when the next Z comes out they will still have the same 2 sports car lineup that they've had since the R35 GT-R...
