  1. Oil Change and Front Undertray

I have the Z1 undershroud and with the "hand test" I could not feel much if any weight difference between the OEM plastic and the aluminum. Very unscientific I know. Mishimoto also makes an aluminum under shroud that is all one piece and does not require any drilling, mounts up in all the same...
  2. What did you do with your Z today? 🙋🏻‍♂️

@NorthSaltJake how do you like the quick jack system?
  3. Question about how turbos work

@Modfather thank you for that concise clear explanation. Much appreciated and good to know this is normal.
  4. Question about how turbos work

During a couple of launch control WOT runs yesterday, I noticed that the highest boost I got was 18-19lbs. The thing I also noticed is that the boost would drop from 18-19 down to 15 lbs of boost after 5,500 RPM up to redline of 7,000. This happens in all gears. Why does the boost drop like...
  5. What did you do with your Z today? 🙋🏻‍♂️

For the heck of it I checked my Mishimoto catch can after about 300 miles/two weeks of mostly grandma driving with some very nice launch controls sprinkled in throughout. Just a tiny bit of clean oil accumulation. The baffle and filter were very wet with clean oil as well.
  6. 7 year journey comes to an end

Congrats! I look at it this way. If I want it and it’s in my budget, I’m not worried about how much I paid, I’ll pay what it’s worth to me. And I definitely don’t get all stressed out wondering how much money a business made on the product. Business is in business to make money and more...
  7. What did you do with your Z today? 🙋🏻‍♂️

Did some Route 66 driving and encountered a 280!
  8. National Pet Day! What's Your Plan with Your Pet? 🐾

I'll take him for his normal walks, they are heaven for him. And I could never bring myself to take his manhood lol.
  9. Longterm Viability and durability of the VR30ddtt

I made it through that entire thread and there is literally no usable information in it, just a bunch of worrying over nothing. Drive these cars and enjoy them, as for me it's a dream car and has been nothing but that.
  10. Hot Seat

Sounds like an actuator to me. Would be covered under warranty if you are under 36k/3years. Tell the dealer about your temp measurements since they were looking at the seat last time.
  11. 7 year journey comes to an end

Gun metal is the classiest color, everyone knows it... Congrats!
  12. Hot Seat

I once had a car that had a similar issue and it was one of the actuators in the dash was stuck in the heat position for one of the vents. Might be something to have the dealership check because they are not easy to get to in most vehicles.
  13. K&N Cold Air Intake system

I missed this! Oh this makes me happy. Heck I guess I could ditch the boxes completely then and make filter maintenance a heck of a lot easier too?
  14. K&N Cold Air Intake system

I considered the Z1 carbon fiber CAI but I did not like that they did not supply new MAF tubes, for the price those should be included and I also saw a few reviews saying drivers side fitment was an issue. Plus I think that may have been CF overkill. I chose Mishimoto because I like the top...
  15. Vr30 Carbon Build up

I have also seen significantly less soot.
  16. Vr30 Carbon Build up

I put on a catch can just because I think it has to be better not to send that gunk into the intake. But from what I've read and watched, mechanics are very mixed over whether it really does anything for the engine. With spirited driving the PVC turns off anyway, it's the grandma daily driving...
  17. K&N Cold Air Intake system

This is what I hate, I did the mishimoto and I have take the airboxes off to service the filters. What a giant PIA that is gonna be. Argh. Maybe I'll get better at it each time.
  18. What did you do with your Z today? 🙋🏻‍♂️

Thank you that's the one I was thinking about doing. Good cautionary post. Let us know how it turns out man, best of luck.
  19. What did you do with your Z today? 🙋🏻‍♂️

What were you getting into the oil pan for? Were you breaking it loose or tightening it? Were you able to tap it out? I've been considering an aluminum pan so I'm interested in any lessons learned.
