  2. From Performance to NISMO

The PDK is not an a/t tranny - it’s a DTC. It’s two manual gear boxes that uses a dual clutch pack and is auto shifted by a computer. The tranny was developed in the 80’…. The GTR also has a DTC tranny.
  3. From Performance to NISMO

Same here i would jump on a nismo with the GR6 tranny.
  4. From Performance to NISMO

if i was going to spend $60-70k on an A/T, i’m not sure it would be a Z - i would look hard at the IS500. but I would have jumped on a nismo m/t Instead of the perf.
  5. Arizona, What Oil Weights are you running and why?

10-30. The average lowest temp Is low-mid 30’s. possible to hit teens for lows but rare. fyi - the closer the two numbers the better.
  6. Missing Part of Front Bottom Grill from Dealership

@ZillaZ Thanks again. I found the holes and mounted my chin spoiler. Otherwise it would still be sitting in my closet. bought a cheap HF riveter and used the largest nose piece marked 3/16. Took maybe 15min.
  7. Gas Pedal

you should remove the blue protective film you should also take it easy during the recommended 1200 mile break-in period.
  8. What's the story on high mileage Z's 2023+?

i would do 10-40 over the 5-40. the further apart the two numbers the shear strength will not hold up under stress as good.
  9. Missing Part of Front Bottom Grill from Dealership

thank you - i will install this weekend.
  10. What's the story on high mileage Z's 2023+?

Yes, but off the street you pay a higher price at the dealership parts counter (unless they give you the family discount). they may have inventory locally, whereas the warehouse is stock out. But unlikely that a dealership will stock a rarely needed part like a a/t muffler. More likely that a...
  11. What's the story on high mileage Z's 2023+?

Looks like you need to bump up to 10-30
  12. What's the story on high mileage Z's 2023+?

I purchased the only one in USA. I called a few dealerships in my area and one dealer told me there was only one in the USA. same guy told me to take mine to a muffler shop and have it fixed. Lol. i ended up ordering it on-line from parts.nissanusa for the discount and shipped it to a local...
  13. Missing Part of Front Bottom Grill from Dealership

Made me look. Mine was installed by the dealer along with the deflectors. They did not install the front chin spoiler, front license plate holder and frame. Looks like you have to drill holes for the chin spoiler, so I’m not installing it.
  14. New Rear Tires

i wouldn’t too frisky in the wet with any tire. I have a hard enough time with dry pavement.
  15. Brake Fluid and Differential Gear Oil Change Interval

The brake fluid service interval (20k or 2 years) is mainly because of the dot 4 fluid and to maintain a higher than normal performance. Dot 4 absorbs water much faster than dot 3. But since you are in a dry climate along with mild manner driving, water might not an issue for you. I wonder...
  16. New Rear Tires

Sweet - i loved the pss on my s2k. Iā€˜m going with these newer psc2 or pss when the time comes. More than likely going with the pss since i will be street only.
  17. Brake Fluid and Differential Gear Oil Change Interval

for street use, i wouldn't worry about the brake fluid. I have 200K+ miles on my taco and never changed the brake fluid or add any. keep that system sealed as long as you can. However, I would change the engine, tranny and diffy fluids early and often.
  18. MAJOR Rant: Nissan Black paint on the Z stinks

Welcome to the new world of water based paints. Remember the early delays for paint issues…. It’s not nissan - its the tree huggers / EPA… to fix the bird crap - use a fine cut polish like MEGUIAR'S 210 Mirror Glaze Ultra Pro polish by hand. Be careful - the paint is less durable on the...
  19. 5k Oil Analysis Report - Updated 12/2/25: 10K report

What did the metals look like on the 1200 sample? looks like the engine break-in wear is significant past the 1200 mile mark. I just changed mine at 1k. I was planing to run to normal service intervals from here out. But now I’m going earlier on the next change after seeing these numbers...
  20. 7 year journey comes to an end

I would change it. It’s such a low cost that itā€˜s a no brainer. will it matter? maybe - maybe not. My logic is there is a break-in period. The initial wear Is higher than after the brake-in period. You are knocking the burrs off the crank shaft’s rod bearing journals, seating components...
