  1. Firmare/Software updates?

I suspect that that’s a hardware limitation rather than software-dependant. On my 370Z I recall that I could get into the camera firmware, but would only allow me to change field of view. Nothing to do with resolution or frame rate.
  2. Firmare/Software updates?

So, the 2024 has a different infotainment system than the 2023? What upgrades might have been applied that would require a different software version? The reason I persist on the subject is that IMHO Nissan is pretty well-known for klunky and "less-that-optimal" software interfaces in their...
  3. Firmare/Software updates?

The infotainment and map software versions on my 2024 Performance Z are both later versions than @bpeckham's 2023 Performance Z
  4. Safe Jack points

Me too. I bought four pucks, cut a slot in each with a table saw so they’d fit over the frame rails, then drilled holes and glued magnets (neodymium from Amazon) in so they’d stay put against the rocker panel.
  5. 1973 Datsun 240z resto. NO BS YT

Wow! That really brings back memories of my 1st Z car! What a great series of videos that is. Some real craftsmanship!
  6. Firmare/Software updates?

Yes, the software versions are different. The question is why. I know that manufacturers will update some hardware, especially “infotainment” electronics, in some vehicles year over year, or even mid-year and not mention It. I’ve been told thats often due to availability of new,They did that...
  7. Firmare/Software updates?

I bought my 2024 Performance AT just off the truck in September 2023. My software versions all appear to be later than yours. I don’t know if these are the versions that were on the car originally, or if they’re updated as part of the automatic updates or when I’ve manually updated.
  8. 400Z Track Day

    What's a 400Z?? :ROFLMAO:
  9. Warranty Repairs. What is your experience?

I had a couple of 370Z's for a total of 13 years/75K miles...no warranty repairs. In fact, no mechanical issues of any kind. Only dealer issue was cosmetic damage to one of my wheels done while I was getting new tires (it fell over on the front side and hit the concrete). When I picked up the...
  10. Connecting Apple CarPlay wirelessly

The Nissan Z website indicates that wireless CarPlay isn't available on the Sport model. On my 2024 Performance, CarPlay connects to my iPhone wirelessly within a few seconds of starting the car, but only about 85% of the time. Sometimes it doesn't connect initially, then shows up few minutes...
  11. NISMONICK: Nissan Z Values in CRISIS?!

Not worth it to YOU, but opinions vary. While I’m unwilling to let a US car dealer make a fool of me (something they are traditionally good at) in no way do I feel bad about paying MSRP for this vehicle. I just wanted a new car. Getting a smokin’ deal was farther down the list of my purchasing...
  12. NISMONICK: Nissan Z Values in CRISIS?!

No, no, no dude they’re in CRISIS!!!
  13. Does anyone actually want an automatic?

I seriously doubt that you'll regret.
  14. Does anyone actually want an automatic?

6000 miles and six months later, I have re-thought this position. Initially, I was indifferent to automatic transmission versus manual transmission, but at this point I am really glad that I got the automatic.
  15. ENGINE OIL best viscosity?

Yup. Easier and more accurate to just follow the engine manufacturers’ recommendations.
  16. Preferred Gas Station - What’s Yours?

No 93 octane around here, choice is between 91 octane with or without ethanol. I have the latter delivered to my bulk tank at home for current pump price but that's for my boats. For fueling my Z, I just refuel at the nearest convenience store with the best touchless car wash. Other...
  17. ENGINE OIL best viscosity?

That's a lot of mental masturbation!! :ROFLMAO: . I was worried that we wouldn't be able to keep the thread alive.
  18. ENGINE OIL best viscosity?

I'd post that question on the internet and see if anyone would respond with an opinion...
  19. who hand washes their car?

The concept behind the accepted detailing standard of thick foam layer after rinse is lubrication in order to prevent, or at least minimize, the micro-scratching and micro-marring that is inevitable if you scrub down the car. That clear coat damage, especially as it accumulates over time...
