  1. Oil change interval

10,000 miles with a good synthetic oil would be fine if the car is being driven, but since I put the car up for the winter every year, I generally do the oil change before doing so. The oil will be fine, but acidic combustion byproducts can accumulate and settle if not driven for long periods.
  2. Parking assist in 2023Z

I just park well away from the curb. Fortunately, this is the Land of 10,000 Pickup Trucks, so even if I do that my Z rarely sticks out farther than the vehicles next to it. I will say that despite innumerable "curb scrapes", I've never actually torn the thing off or damaged the main body of it.
  3. Nissan Dealer Lashes Out Defending Z's $130,000 Price..

Worth noting that that Facebook post was 14 months ago. Safe to say that that dealership isn't asking or getting that markup anymore. Gotta admire the chutzpah of that dealership , but it's not the kind of place that I would ever shop for a new car. That level of disrespect for their customers...
  4. Parking assist in 2023Z

Nope. The sensors aren't going to help you with those parking curbs. That will not be the last time you you scrape the air dam.
  5. Offical Wild Z Sighting Thread

About 1500 Z's sold, total, in the US...2022 and 2023 model years. I'm sure there is some regional variation but I think it's likely that most of us in the US will not be seeing them around in the foreseeable future.
  6. Android Auto for the new Z -- wireless or wired?

For me, connecting the iPhone wirelessly was pretty seamless and now it auto-connects to CarPlay when I start the car with the iPhone in my pocket...I don't have to do anything.
  7. Rattle on drivers door.

I've found Nissan's electronics to be as reliable as any other car mfgr (in that I've never had an actual electronics failure), but it's almost like they go out of their way to create complicated and un-intuitive controls and interfaces. Their cameras' resolution and frame rates are just a part...
  8. Rattle on drivers door.

Nissan does seem to struggle with the electronics of their vehicles and the backup camera in our new Z's is one good example. This is not unique to the current model Z...it was true of the 370Z as well, and in fact is true of the last 3 Murano Platinums that my wife has had. Otherwise...
  9. I Give Up!

People are paying dealer markups for new Z's? Weird..I was a little miffed that I ended up paying sticker.
  10. Locking Car after Closing Trunk

I've had a 350Z, two 370Z's and now a Z. In my experience, the rear hatch has always operated such that you push the rear release and the hatch would pop open to clear the second (safety) latch just enough to grab under the hatch and lift it up where the gas struts would take it the rest of the...
  11. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

Sorry, I wanted to give it more time to decide, and now, with snow on the ground, the car is in the storage garage under cover. I will say that that the more I drove it, the more I got used to it and the less it bothered me. I never found it to be so harsh that it was unpleasant, it was just...
  12. Scuff guards: worth it?

To me, they're not intrusive so I'll leave them on. Inevitably, they'll get scuffed over time and I'll remove them when I ultimately prepare to sell it.
  13. Scuff guards: worth it?

I appreciate the photo... mine came wit the same package but I had no clue what a scuff guard is. As it turns out, I have one. Didn't notice/
  14. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

LOL. My wife of 42 years is not a car enthusiast. The other day, she wanted to drive my new Z. We went for a drive, and after a lot of rather tentative back road twisties, we hit a long asphalt staightaway and I encouraged her to put her foot in it. She took me at my word and when we hit 105...
  15. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

I installed sway bars on both of my 370Z's without removing any associated components, so that's do-able, at least on the Z34...but that was on a lift and was a little tricky, needing enough up-and-down room to angle the thing in there around the exhaust cat-back. I'm inclined to doubt that...
  16. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

It's a pretty straightforward installation and can be done by anyone with mild-moderate wrench skills. I opted to have it done by a local mechanic even though it's well within my skill set, primarily because doing it on ramps or jackstands is a PITA. The lack of room laying on a creeper was...
  17. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

Glad to have been of some help. The thing that's moderately annoying with the stiffer setup is the low-level chattering/hopping I can get when accelerating out of a corner at some speed on Minnesota roads. I think I felt the rear end break loose a little bit in that circumstance the other day -...
  18. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

I had Eibach sway bars, endlinks, and bushings on my last few Z's. Good stuff and a great company.. I did not add the Z1 endlinks with this most recent set, but will do so if the softer bar settings turn out to be too soft. As I mentioned, my needs are simpler now, in my old age.
  19. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

This is my 9th Z since the 240Z I drove when I was in college. I do like the platform, especially since the 350Z. Brainerd International Raceway is about 15 miles from here but I don't hit the track any more nor am I as interested in extensive mods as I used to be. Rather, I enjoy the impressive...
  20. Upgraded to Z1 sway bars...

Way back when I bought my original 370Z, I noted that, while it would hold up to 1 g cornering, it had a rather distressing amount of body roll in doing so. I found that a pair of Eibach sway bars significantly fixed that problem and I drove that car for almost 12 years. Consequently, I was...
