After so many calls from this dealer offering nearly every other combo they finally came through.
The funny thing is that when others were getting confirmation about their cars being on the Dugong Ace, I sent the dealer a text as a joke saying that there seemed to be a lot of Z confirmations on this boat and could he see if there was a spare car for me.
He even remembered our conversation from early last year about the car mats and just ordered them for me
Hopefully there are some other Nissans onboard because their dealership is looking very bare once again. Is it still the same saleman as before?

My car was due next month, I am pulling out because Nissan aren't offering staff/fleet discounts anymore. What a waste of 18 months.... enjoy your cars peeps!

Dugong Ace now due into Port Kembla on 7th July
Was hoping to try and go to look but will be in Hong Kong for a week. Hopefully car won't be long after I get back.
Got refund back from regional dealer without any problems, they were happy for me.
The local dealer on the other hand was a bit hesitant, said best to leave it in case Nissan didn't come through with the car and I would loose my place in the queue if they refunded now.
Haven't heard of anyone not getting their car once confirmed and actually on a ship headed to an Australian port. I think just sour grapes on their part. Choose to leave the deposit till car arrives from Sydney dealer

What sort of discount were you expecting, they use to do a loyalty discount if you already owned a Nissan but I think this has changed to a free service

This discount was due to a staff member working in the head office for over 30 years. Normally they get roughly 3k to 7k off but apparently Nissan aren't doing it anymore. My mrz father worked for Ford who has a fleet discount also, when I enquired for the Raptor the discount was almost 10k. I bought a GR Yaris RallyE instead.

Sorry mate, i don't like your chances of the Dugong Ace being at Port Kembla by the 7th. It's still sitting out in bass straight as of 3 minutes ago, i've been checking it every day. Was supposed to make dock this morning but still sitting out in the same spot. From what i've been looking at there's also a bunch of other car carriers out there in bass straight now, plus 3 at anchor in port phillip bay, all waiting for a berth. Knowing the shipping industry like i do, my guess is this won't be finished in Melbourne for another 2 weeks, minimum, infact i'd be surprised if it made it port Kembla prior to August.

Sorry.

What a bummer, I've been tracking the ship and noticed it wasn't moving.
At least on the positive I have a car on that ship and its sort of in Australia, again a waiting game, this time the culprit being shipping and not nissan.
I've waited 18 months a little extra won't hurt

xforce are in the process of developing a valved exhaust system for the Z. They have been working on it for about a month, no idea when it will be available for sale. I'll put a post up here when new information becomes available
I have a Varex valve in my system, but quite a few places cautioned me against an Xforce/Varex muffler. Apparently, as an integrated unit, they not only sound not quite as refined as you might want, but they're also a PITA to repair if the valve stops working.

I tried out about 4 mufflers until I found the one I liked the sound of the most. There is a ton of space in the back, so you can put something quite large that both free flowing and has a large resonance/anti-drone chamber. Then just put a standalone valve on it. :)

nah i've already got it, just figure if i've got someone working on the car already i'd rather they pop it on than fuck it up myself ?
You may have noticed the blue foam that comes with it - this is not just to protect it during shipping, but it's actually a template so that you can correctly place it on the spoiler.
Pretty hard to fuck it up, to be honest... Just make sure you clean/prep the surface well, especially if you have ceramic coat.

This is one reason I liked the HKS dual muffer. Although it's inconvenient to manually put the caps on and off to adjust the sound, at least it will last forever (unless you somehow lose the caps).
