A good reason to err on the side of caution, and have strong environmental protections. Because it can be so hard to clean up once the horse has left the barn, and these contaminants are in the soil and waterways.

"Eating just one serving of freshwater fish each year could have the same effect as drinking water heavily polluted with “forever chemicals” for an entire month, a new study finds."

Good thing I stick to ocean fish. Oil spills taste WAY better, anyways.

Funny you say that. A boat a few boats down from me in the marina sank last week. I havent been back yet but apparently the whole marina smells like gas and oil now. I am sure the fish are loving it.

Alec Baldwin Involuntary Manslaughter Charge Explained: Why Actor Was Charged in 'Rust' Shooting

In all honesty, I don't know enough about the case to develop a strong opinion on it, but what really stands out to me is that everyone involved is denying responsibility. And, I have heard no alternative explanation as to how it happened.

So, off to court they go.....

From what I can gather (and remember), there were failures on many levels with multiple people. Not surprising at all that each person is pointing the finger at the others. Whoever can convince a jury they have the least blame wins. Or something... I dunno. ???

Never worked on a set before, visited Universal Studios once though.....

Blame can be assigned. May be dispersed depending on circumstances.
As a firearms enthusiast, I can't even fathom how this happened. Obviously, we're not accidentally shooting each other at the shooting range, so how does a live round end up in a studio set gun?
Somebody was wildly irresponsible.

I tend to think the buck stops with the armorer, who I heard was probably not suited for the job. You could blame the armorer, the person who hired the armorer, and I certainly believe that just for due process Baldwin should be tried, but I'm not simply saying he's responsible. I've heard the rumors that he hired the armorer, who is a kid of a friend, so if that's true, it's not looking good.....

But, again, totally ridiculous it could happen. It's like when Brandon Lee died, was justice served then?

Yeah, pretty ridiculous that a live round was anywhere CLOSE to being on set, let alone the damn gun itself. On an individual level, I would tend to agree that whoever is in charge of safe handling of the firearms on set - presumably the armorer - should be most responsible for this catastrophe. But I'm sure there's some blame to be put on the nepotistic hiring of an inexperienced armorer.

On a legal level, seems like Alec's production company would be legally responsible.

A shit show, for sure.

But again... i dunno

Good, glad his dumb ass is getting charged, along with the armorer. Basic firearms safety tells you to clear a firearm when it's handed to you. There's no fucking excuse - if firearms are involved in a movie you're part of you better fucking know the four rules and the idiotically simple difference between a blank and a live round.

I’m sure I read somewhere that he liked to have live ammunition on set so they could go shoot stuff in their breaks ….I don’t know how true it is, but if it is he should have the full force of the law to deal with…and if not, your right.
He is still partly responsible

My understanding from reading interviews with industry people is you should never have live rounds on a set. It makes it too easy for things like this to happen.

Some crew members walked off the set before this shooting after two other accidental discharges. Alec Baldwin should have immediately stopped production after the first one to take corrective action, but apparently didn't. Plus, he's the one who pulled the trigger when pointing a gun at someone.

accidental discharges.
That's negligent discharge to you, sir.

Totally agree, no reason for live ammunition to be on a movie set. Alec is totally anti-gun so not sure why he'd want to shoot live rounds. Live rounds should NEVER be in the same vicinity as blank ammunition. That just begs for dumb shit like this to happen.
