I don't see why people are so outraged by the timing of this release. With a known shortage of computer chips and a limited production model like the new Z, it's no surprise to see production dates delayed by 30-60 days. Even that's not much when you consider that other high-volume Nissan models will be delayed to get the new Z out. The pandemic disrupted automotive supply lines badly and we just need to stay patient with our expectations. Don't lose it, folks!

I dont think people are mad but.. just more or so eager to get the car or attempt too. And nissans silence on the launch for NA is making them anxious as hell. because they know it's going to be limited and if you're not first on placing an order then Goodluck.

I just heard back from my dealer who is a GM of an Infiniti/Nissan Group here in Canada. He spent all of last week with Nissan leadership in San Diego. He just updated me that Nissan leadership are still not prepared to commit to production and delivery times, or pricing. I find this difficult to believe and probably there will be a snap announcement that will catch us all off guard whilst we have been patiently awaiting news.

Here's the Nissan Z launch timeline straight from Nissan. We're still in the pre-launch period but some dates to look forward to:
  • March 2022 - Start of Production
  • April 2022 - Media First Drives
  • May 2022 - Nissan North America Field Meeting
  • June 2022 - Wholesale Release/Start of Sales
  • August 2022 - Marketing & Advertising Launch

Some of the information I caught wind of in January hinted towards a time line similar to this. However a few things that differed were 1. Production beginning in February. 2. release for dealer orders beginning in April/May and Sales beginning in Jun.

I strongly believe this timeline is most likely to be our best guess with another rumored push back on release would put the Z out around August. However nothing is conformed from Nissan as of yet. So I would STRONGLY ADVISE that we use this as a templet to base our expectations on till Nissan comes out with the rest.

I was hoping the media first drive event would be in March, but the rest is hardly a surprise at this point. An August delivery seems likely for those on the Canadian reserve list.

Look guys, at this point whatever is the later committed dates are more believable. No use comparing against earlier posts or promises. We all need to get used to this, totally not happy with Nissan’s communication, obviously lots of delays.

I totally understand why lots of people are unhappy about lack of details about this car. I think a lot of people fail to consider that in today's world, people complain about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. Sometimes, saying nothing allows you to upset yourself rather than a company do it for you lol. People need to relax on the ETA of when it's on sale. It's coming this Spring. So excessive speculation about when something is happening is useless. Clearly dealers don't know anything(sales people to GMs'). Production is out of our control cause we are not building these cars. With the obvious world circumstances, the best advice is to not hawk this vehicle. It'll just frustrate you more. Best believe, i'm just as excited as the next Z enthusiast!

Between not getting a USA pre-order, finding an ADM-less dealer(or reasonably price), and spec wanted.I already have it in my head that if i'm able to purchase in June, GREAT! If not, it is what it is...

At this point, I am trying to just be patient (not one of my strong points). I remind myself that I have my place in 'line', and whenever the Z comes to market, my place in line will not change. I do check the forum and Google for news at least once a day though haha.

Well, it's not coming to me this Spring. And likely not the remainder of 2022. And possibly not even in 2023 either, the way some things are going. In which case, this vehicle would kind of be dead to me, since 2024 is a world away, and I live my life a quarter mile at a time. ;)

Seriously though, I'm not like some other folks who act like they will live forever, and one year is like the next so no big deal. I might not even want this or any car a couple years from now. So yeah, the new Z is a nice car that has piqued my interested, but it's not my vehicle if we're talking waiting several years to get one, which is disappointing. Will see ...

The problem isn’t the wait per say, but the lack of information coming out of Nissan.
if people knew without a doubt that June was the month if intended delivers we would all be like…ok, a couple month late, but I can deal with it.
But none of us know this for sure without confirmation.
A price would also be good, I’m going to be pretty angry if I’ve waited for over a year only to find out I can’t afford it. Yes we have a ball park figure, but with everything going on in the world, that could be blown to smitherines

I have mentioned this before, but here in Aus the Pathfinder was due late last year, it’s still not here, still no dare. The Quashi was supposed to be here early this year, still not here, still no price, still no date
Yet Nissan Aus continues to take peoples money on all three models for reservations

i think this is a very poor way to treat your buyer, after all we are talking about thousands of dollars not a dollar or two. At the very least we should get a monthly update on what’s happening….we haven’t had anything since October last year when the books officially opened, and that’s not good enough

When Nissan said *spring*, we expect it being the 1st day of spring, but Nissan actually meant the 1ast day.
The difference is 3 months. Wait patiently.... ;)
