I live in the desert southwest of the great nation of the United States. The heat typically kills batteries within a year ... I am at the year point with the Z. I would prefer to replace the OEM with a higher performance and maintainence free battery.
I haven't had issues with the OEM model, but I also do quarterly checks on the cells and refill as needed.
I have seen posts that others bought the Optimas, but I'd like to get a wide range of what others have chosen to replace ... and if you'd buy again.
Some of these range in price upto $700+ ... I use my Z as a daily driver, so reliability ranks really high on my list ... price is really low.
TIA ... you folks are the best!

Any certain model or vendor to by from? Where I live, I'd have to drive 50 miles for an 'in stock" battery. I live in a 'SH**HOLE' outside of El Paso. Specifically, AutoZone and O'rielly's don't have in stock for Optima ... and don't have any idea wth I am asking them --- even online chat.

Z requires a Group 47 battery; fitment guides aren't always correct.

I need to find a local store, shipping a core back isn't a resonable action.

RockAuto doesn't require you shipping a core back. Pay the $18 core charge and move on. Or, Walmart...

The online retailers charge the minimal core charge knowing full well the customer will never send a core back because their pricing still beats any local parts store.

True, if you own this car ... $18 is nothing to complain about. The question then becomes ... where to dispose of the old battery responsibly.

If you can afford it, a lithium battery like an Antigravity would work.

Auto parts recycler, local landfills have programs, etc.

Buy OEM Nissan. Ain't no battery lasting you 5 years anyways.
True, but my 1998 Silverado battery ... lasted 13 years and still tested at 52% charge when I replaced it.
