Thoughts on noise after catback install

You're not crazy. I have documented noise graphs somewhere on this forum. That rpm range is a resonant spot which the AWE touring actually improved for me over stock.

Is your car manual or automatic, out of curiosity?



IIRC, the shop I had install my cat back had to do something like this. The pipes were hitting occassionally on first install even though there was a gap.
So funny enough it’s been almost 2k miles with it and most if not all my complaints are gone. Though I do think it’s rubbing on the w brace

I'm getting the AWE Touring Exhaust installed with AMS Full Catted LDPs, and would appreciate more info on the "shims" solution your installer used, in the event the rubbing issue emerges.

I think this comes down to how the exhaust is installed, since it's a slip fit system, there is a ton of wiggle room. I had the AWE touring, and I had zero issues with rubbing, there was plenty of clearance.

Install should yield a rub-free, contact free fitment. If you are having trouble, please contact our support team for assistance. The bigger diameter piping does mean less space, so precision adjustment is key.
