My '24' has the Red and black interior and the beading on the lower back driver's seat has about a 1 inch area that is scuffed where all color on the beading is gone. I went to the dealer parts dept. but they don’t offer touch up. Any ideas how I can get the exact color for touch up. And, I’m wondering if it will even adhere properly. Has anyone ever tried leather dye? ✌

Getting a little scuffiness on my bolster too.

Never done this, but its supposedly DIY/doable. No clue how long it lasts though.

Permatex makes a kit that comes with repair stuff and 7 colors of paint that you can mix to match the color. Or what would probably happen to me, TRY to match the color, use all of one color up trying to get it to match, and buying another kit for more paint.

Any dealership should have a leather repair guy they can recommend. My dad had his C6 red leather bolster repaired and it was truly flawless.

Same issue and have tried using red leather polish with some success.

I'll add, he kept that car for nearly 100k miles after the repair, and the issue never happened again. No clue how the first owner did that in the first 45k miles of life... My dad is not easy on a bolster either (hip & knee replacements, along with a 2-wheeled accident).

Many decades ago, I had an Acura Legend that I had the driver side leather touched up. It looked really good and I had the car another 9 years and it held up really well.
However, it was touched up by an upholstery shop using professional supplies and experience. Not sure how consumer grade stuff might hold up....

Totally agreed; you want a pro tackling it. Its an art form.

I am assuming that no one used saddle soap on the leather prior to the fading. My question to anyone in the forum ... how do I protect the cloth part of the seat when applying any treatment to the leather?
My thought was the famous 3M blue tape meant for painting, but all other thoughts would be helpful!
TIA

I just be as careful as I can not to wipe it.

I use meguiar's rich leather cleaner. I have scratched my wheel a few times with my rings and this stuff makes it smooth as silk again.

Excellent, I'll give that a try along with the 3M tape!

Raises a new question ... how to care for cloth areas in the cabin?
