I chose the Nismo intakes just to keep the warranty. I dont need 600hp. I just wanted turbo noises to tickle the tism and get the giggles flowing like the 2 year old I am.
I drove a STD 2025 Z that my dealer provided.
It was a very nice car , but yes i was disappointed in some aspects. My dealer said the NISMO was quite a step up from the STD and it addressed the niggles i had with the STD model.

I put a deposit down for the 2026 NISMO and an order in the system. I had some concerns with the VR30DDTT , enough for me to reconsider the purchase.
My dealer refunded me the deposit ( law here in Aus) and i cancelled the order which in any case still had an unknown ETA for the 2026 model.

I still think the current Z is a great car.... but just not something i was 100% happy with.. fair enough ??

Does this make me a "Troll"

I am NOT trying to offend anybody..
I get you, and I was in the same boat and even had my Z Nismo up for sale, but the number of VR30DDTT issues on Z's is at 3 world wide, made me reconsider and was taken off the market.

To make things worse for myself I will be tracking mine, it's getting ProjectMu braided brake lines and CarboTech pads done soon and I'll be hitting SMP and Wakefield at least 6 times a year. It is what it is there is warranty for a reason and I'm not too concerned as they have addressed the head of the VR30DDTT. Don't forget they run 0W20 in the US we run 5W30 in Aus and some states don't have 98P fuels either so more knocking creates more issues, let alone some folks just get immense power tunes and then track their cars, shits gonna break.

Happy you got a GR Corolla but honestly big mistake IMO should've gone for the much better GR Yaris with the Aero pack, but don't think for once that engine is flawless either yes it's a beast but lot's of blown G16E-GTS too. Better rep than the VR30DDTT yeah for sure thanks' to the VR's past in the Infinity's.

Am I still concerned about the VR30DDTT going off on me on a trackday eventually... yeah nahhh not really it's been built for the track and is running in the Japanese GT3 series so "she'll be right mate".

By the way mate, I will be at the Vic Alps in a couple of weeks if you want to catch up and check out my Nismo, I will be there for a few days.

Toy on our side of the earth refers to buying something that you don't actually "need", but bought it because it's fun to play with and enjoy playing with it. Every car I own is a toy. For actual transportation, I steal one of my wife's cars, lol

You are not completely wrong though, because if we said "it's like a toy", depending on context, we also mean that it is inferior quality, disposable, made cheaply, etc.

So, enjoy your new toy! (meant in the best way possible). The GRC is an awesome car, and you will definitely enjoy it. Plus, it's a lot more practical than the Z, so essentially, it's less of a toy than the Z. It can be viewed as a really fun form of transportation!
@wooferocau if there is a man that can attest for the Z Nismo it's this gent his hit the track and from what I know no issues correct @up4speed ?

As i have stated..
My very helpful Nissan dealer was adamant that the NISMO is quite a step up in most aspects over the STD model. :)

Handling in the STD was VERY rolly polly !!
Power ( my other gripe) i can understand as coming from my 500+ rwhp Z32....most stuff feels a little leghargic!

Standard Z vs Nismo is a night and day difference no matter even how many mods you make.

Honestly I was blown away how much grip the Nismo has and how it attacked corners. I've owned a Clio RS200 Gordini, Megane RS265 and GR Yaris Rallye and all those are monsters in Alpine type of roads, so much that GR Yaris was uncatchable by M2's and M3's. But I was not expecting the Nismo to be that planted and that capable in the tighter corners, even the steering is on another level in terms of feedback and how pinpoint precise it is compared to the GR Yaris (feels very numb). Nismo's Gearbox is fast when warmed up and feel like the gears ratio is just right. I've driven my cousins M2 F87 and compared to the Nismo it's more playful and feels a little more raw but while the Nismo with a HKS exhaust is more awake now, but it doesn't want to play as much it just wants to get things done with perfection. Something I find scary as I don't know when it's gonna break loose and how it's going to react but I'll find out on the track soon it's limits (it is my first RWD car by the way).
GR Yaris R will be faster for sure leaves M3 and M2 for dead in tight twisty roads, it's lighter more nimble in a place like that but the Nismo is quite impressive incredible grip levels, more than I ever expected. So I expect the GR Corolla to be very similar probably less capable in very tight twisty areas but I know for a fact it's more planted in high speed corners than the GRY.

Enjoy your new purchase regardless awesome car no doubts mate, with one hell of an after market.

Hey OP, here is a list of my experiences. Would I call them issues, yes and no. These are just items I feel are worth addressing.

For context, I have a 2024 Nismo - Passion Red. Located in the USA.

1) the paint is not strong, chips easily. I would recommend a full car protective wrap and ceramic coating.
2) trunk hatch rattles due to low resistance on the popper springs. I upgraded the hatch release springs and the rattle went away.
3) the Bose sub is sub-par. Upgraded with a replacement spare-tire sub for better bass.
4) Reverse camera sucks. Upgraded to one that is s higher resolution.
5) added Nismo intakes because I want those sweet sweet turbo noises. (I am a 5 year old at heart.)

Now, here's the sensitive list. The issues I have seen people discuss but I have personally not experienced.

1) Parking proximity sensors harness fails in the front bumper. Factory NSB coverage.
2) Oil pressure solenoid failure. Could lead to self destructive engine. I would assume it will be covered under warranty for anyone that it applies to.

I font know if there is a list on the forum of issues and links to topics, but definitely look through the forums and Facebook groups. Lots of good people in the community who are knowledgeable and happy to help.

Hey Bryan, could you give a little more detail on the upgraded Spare tire sub you did? It’s sounds like it was as easy as a plug and play? I curse the sound system every time I drive but don’t want to start ripping things apart to improve sound. Thanks.
