Vinyl should block out all the light. Not that the bulbs get crazy hot or anything but you could buy high heat bbq grill spray paint

Why are they not allowed there? they're a safety feature
Thanks man. Stupid laws in here, as you said, it's a safety feature so it's a nonsense

Just unplug them. I don't think there is a single bulb in the car that will trigger a check engine light.
Really? Brake lights not triggering any light in dashboard? That's weird, even my '92 Opel Calibra had it...

I'm talking about check engine light.

Also، the side markers are not related to the brake lights circuit.

And I'm pretty sure people have been unplugging the rear brake light fuse to do burnouts on the new Z without triggering the check engine light.

Either unplug them or cover them with thick black vinyl for the inspection.

I’d go gloss black vinyl to cover them. If you plan to cover them only during inspection you cold use black electrical tape….cheap and quick/easy removal.

I did the swap to JDM side markers. It was super simple, pried them out oh so carefully with a plastic pry tool.

Then I unplugged the OEM side markers (they have the bulbs built in to them), taped off and secured the connectors, and popped in the clears.

I've had them installed for a few months now and no issues with lights on the dashboard or anything of the sort.

I had these decals made to resemble the JDM Z; we need the side marker, so the "Z" allows the red light through at night....but it could just as easy be opaque...works great for me and my goals of ridding the car of red.

Just my local decal shop...I'll attach a close up of the Japanese model w/reflector which can be used as a stencil...then just have to make to size. He's made some other cool things for me too like the front and rear window decals and the dome light Zs

Just installed these, I probably wouldn’t mind the OEM red ones on other colors but it looks a lot cleaner on silver!

Hi guys, finally the first Nissan Z in Spain is with me!

One quick question, since I'm registering the car, in here rear side markers are not allowed, so either I have to order the JDM ones (just reflector) or unplugged them and get them covered somehow.

Is it easy to unplugged them? I guess through the trunk? And also, am i gonna get any message in the dashboard if they are not connected?

Thanks in advance, actually 3 questions sorry haha.

P.S. One quick pic of the car after collection
