So im looking for some new tyres, michelin pilot sport 4s. I was going for the rear size of 285/35/19 and fronts 265/40/19 but for the fronts they arent available. However, 275/40/19 is available, so Is it possible to install them on the fronts? Has anyone fitted that tyre size on the oem wheels? Should i go 275/35/19?

I recently changed my tires to Conti DWS06, which are 265/35 front and 285/35 rear. Width-wise, the 265 on the front gives the tire more of a square edge than a stretch edge from the 255. 275 on the front OE wheel might give you a bubble look. Height-wise, the OD on the OE 255/40 is 27" and 27.4" on the 265/40. This is something to consider when selecting an aspect ratio for a wider tire.

Fair enough. Im willing to go 275 35 sidewall for the fronts on the stock rays wheels but im really more concerned about possible rubbing in the front end with the suspension components.

I went to the tyre shop. Apparently they have fronts pilot super sports and rears ps4s, but I couldnt bring myself to install two different sets of tyres so I decided to wait to order ps4s for the fronts. Do super sports front and ps4s rears work well?
Definitely don't mismatch tires unless its a drift or drag car, not even from the same brand.

Thank you. At least I test fitted the fronts, they dont rub with suspension components so thats good. I guess I wait for the front ps4s to arrive.

Do you suggest I go square all around with 275/35 19 ?
Short answer is no, stay with the stagger.

The main advantage of a square setup is rotatability, so you will need to buy 2 more rear wheels and run 4 rears. Basically if you are a really aggressive driver that blows through tires quickly by being able to rotate them you can get more life out of the tires. If you track your car often being able to rotate will increase tire life and and grip consistency as each tire gets a turn at each corner of the car, most tracks put load most on one or two tires because of the layout. Square setup will also shift the handling balance forward, so if you are struggling with understeer this will help.

I'm going with 265/40/18 front and 285/40/18 rear. The 40 profile at the rear will cover the fender gap a little which is nice.

Yeah, I wanna go 285/35 19 rears and 275/35 19 fronts but the rear ps4s tyres that are avaliable were produced 2 years ago and the sidewall looks bloomed.

2 years is fine, how long will they last you, maybe 2 years max. Ask for a discount. As for the sidewalls some brake cleaner and a rag will remove any residue.

Hey Guys, a silly question. I am new with my Z. I have 24 Nismo, would performance Rays oems fit the Nismos and clear the brakes? I drive my car all year long in NY and think about buying a factory Rays oem for winter with snow tires. Thanks in advance..

Your set up is the exact one I was looking at. How do you like it? Any issues?

I was thinking 265/40 F -285/35 R, but the DWS06+ doesn't come in 265/40, and going 275/35 F seems a bit wide for the stock wheel. I am a bit concerned that the 265/35 is 0.3in shorter on the sidewall than the 255/40.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi @Z-ski

I like the setup, and have not experienced any issues with the 0.3in shorter sidewall up front. The tires are a bit more comfortable and quieter than the OE tires and have not spun out on me (under usual driving conditions) in colder temperatures. I had to trim the plastic air diverters that are located underneath the front bumper, in front of the tires, as they would scrape over speed bumps after I lowered the Z. However, I suspect that would not have been necessary if I had stuck with the 40 series sidewall.
