BIG props to the JR913E. I think ‘formidable’ may be an understatement.
And good on AMS for keeping it in there and giving it a shot.

I'm stoked about this also and Sonictuned - Mark Robert who went 9.71 on stock block and 9 speed also. One thing is it's just not a tune. AMS thew every bolt-on they have at this thing. Big Z1 80 turbos also. It's easy $30-$40k in parts no labor in this car. The trans lasting those pulls was amazing but I don't think anyone believes it will handle that power for any length of time. Mark from Sonictuned just got the 1st built 9 Speed - very curious to see where that goes. Anyway I'm a 60-150+ guy not a 1320 guy :ROFLMAO:

I promise you it's not $30,000-$40,000 in parts alone without labor. I've built out the same spec - minus the unavailable 3.25" AMS air intakes as they're not on their website yet, or at least weren't when I checked.

It is up there don't get me wrong but not that high in parts alone

Off the top of my head:
Turbos - $5K
IC's -$3k
Drag Pack -$4k
Exhaust -$2k
Intakes - $700
Downpipes - 1.5k
Seats, Carbon doors, hood, roll cage -$8k
Fuel system -$3k
Tune - $2k
Suspension, oil pan, body bushing kits, catch can, different brace - $4k
Total for me and you to buy- $33,200 no install

Seems you're including things I'm not as I put things together for typical street purposes, so no roll cage, carbon, etc.(so subtract that 8k entirely) and drag pack, which I'm assuming you mean wheels, tires, related components (so subtract that $4,000).

Also seems like you're going with some more expensive options or possibly overestimating the cost for some things, for example - straight down pipes for $1,500, exhaust for $2,000 (assuming you're going with a 3" version) - but I'm not gonna get into the differences of hundreds or specific products.

Looking above we can subtract about $12,000 from what you mentioned.

Now if you want a mirror build for drag purposes specifically then yeah, you're likely in the right ballpark. I built my list around reliable power for street purposes so there's a fundamental difference in between what we're saying and understanding that it makes sense that there's a price difference

Bro the car they built had all those things + more. I stand by my original statement. You want to build this platform to a 10second car thats what you are spending. The car they ran a 9.23 had every bit of $30-$40k in parts. The OP referenced AMS record run. What you think they are running 2.5" exhaust - head explode. They runing ethanol, probably has an ice tank, 3.5" intakes and more.

I have 3" intakes, 3" LDP's resonated, 3" catback and a tune - I do everything myself - that list right there is over $5k. Add wheels and tires (PS4's) and thats another $4,500. Thats $10k for noting - for 100HP and to get the car from it's anemic 13 second 60-130 time to something almost respectable.

Hey, you're clearly replying emotionally instead of rationally. If you read my reply you may notice I said you're right, if you're doing an exact build for the same purposes, then yes, you're right. I also clearly stated that you are including things that I'm not, and that was because our goals of "the build" was different - and because"the purpose of the build is different" then it makes sense there would be also be a price difference.

Sounds like you're having a bad day. Sincerely hope your weekend gets better. Cheers

P.S. - you mentioned 3" exhaust for 2k. I only mentioned 3" exhaust because you can get an American made 3" exhaust from AWE for around $1,250. That's why I said I'm going to stay away from going deeper into specific brands or products because for even the same spec/requirements there could be varying prices

Hey with the upgrades you mentioned, say if you modded the nismo version. How would it stack up in comparison on the track given that it's chassis is more rigid and built with more strength from the assembly line?

All I can say is the car is woken up. I drive it spirited daily and it is quicker all around. I just ordered my Whiteline front & rear sway bars, end links and bushings. Performance with my mods v a Nismo stock, nismo looses - given drivers of same ability. If you took same driver both cars performance with my mods win - IMO. I do not think I would do any more suspension mods - don't want NVH.

Ahhh cool! I just put the whiteline sways bars with end links on and it drives like a sports car should. Precise steering improved handling with ultimate confidence on the curves.

Nice to know. Not many have picked Whiteline also.
