I had 2 Z31's back in the day.

It doesn't surprise me that they weren't loved.

Although I liked mine, I distinctly remember that they had cooling problems due to the nose design, and even with only 160-165hp the rear squat was comical! Hitting the gas was like flashing your high beams at night.

When I saw that Z31 video the op posted, I wondered if that resto mod has the same issues.

I don't see the humor?

On one of my Z31s I removed the fan clutch setup (made the car sound like a Hardbody Nissan) and installed two of the highest CFM Spal fans with shrouds available. Helped, but in AZ the temp needle still moved slightly right of center on hot days in traffic. And that was a non turbo Z.

Hmmm, still doesn't seem "hilarious"

the funny part to me was about it squatting when you hit the gas and high beaming people with the headlights.

my nissan hard-body did the same thing, but thats because it had the engine from a 240sx in it...

The "Z squat" premiered in the previous Z models.

The hardbody came first, so the engine was one of our durability feature and benefit sales points for the 240SX, as well as it having the same multilink rear suspension as the Z32.

Coincidentally, yesterday I got ahold of my aunt that owns a Z31 NA and Z32 TT both burgundy. She's approaching 70. I hope to buy both from her. Seems more and more of a reality since my G37X is totaled.

Love the high quality pic from the 80's Z31 development team. Been rewatching Wangan Midnight and a young driver has a Z31. Looks so good two tone in that anime series.

This is my 1988 300zx Turbo Shiro Special edition. 1 of 75 imported into Canada in 88. Comes special with thicker sway bars, stiffer springs, recaros, special air dam, 3-stage pearl white paint, white wheels (I've since changed mine) and full analogue gauges. About 1,002 in total produced I believe.
