Hi all,

While I'm in the process of moving I unfortunately don't have the time to drive or do many other upgrades to the car but today I had 30 minutes with two helpers and knocked this out. This is the Z1 style 1 spoiler/lip.

Overall quality - 9.3
- very small imperfections, little dimples in a few of the areas
- if I paid $400+ more for carbon fiber or really anything else in that price range I would be peeved, but not at this price and quality

Overall Finish - 9.5
- on the edges of the base it is somewhat rough. I do not believe this will rub and damage paint. I believe the edges of note are slightly raised off the paint due to the tape
- finish is consistent, not cloudy, not marred. I am very detail oriented and I am happy to report this area is great

Overall fitment - 9.8
- at times you will think it may not lie down and look factory but I assure you, get some helpers, tape up the area - I used a vertical tape middle of the spoiler going up to the rear window, obviously cut in half, so I could line up both horizontally and vertically. Worked perfectly

Final score - 9.7
- this is because I really like it, and the very small imperfections are completely acceptable and still exceeded my expectations for a lower cost, high quality spoiler/lip. I am not the biggest Z1 fan at times but I am glad they proved me wrong here. Good job guys!

How hard was the install? You said it only took 30 mins, which is not much time at all. Did you have to drill many holes? Thanks for the post!

See the Fred Martin license plate bracket.

Did you buy the Z in Ohio? There are Fred Martin dealerships all over the Boardman, Ohio area. (Haven't lived there since 1995 though...)

Not hard at all. Just needed to use isopropyl alcohol to prep the surface. Let it dry for 5-10 minutes. Used tape and two helpers to hold position while aligning and taping.

No drilling of holes at all! I liked the idea that if I don't like it at some point I could just remove and polish off any tape residue and be back to factory

Yup! I got a great deal from the Fred Martin there, about $7,500 less than MSRP. I am sponsored by a transport company so the transport didn't cost much, I wasn't in the market for a Z but saw the price and immediately became in the market ?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing to mine as well. Thanks!

That's a great question for Z1. I am out of town and the car is at the shop getting a new diff it will be a while before I can answer. It does cover the whole width of the rear lid though

Update since I got a DM about this.

My spoiler edges are coming up/off something fierce and it's just getting worse. I'll have to ask z1 for guidance. Likely a reinstall that I take longer than 10-15 minutes on.

Pics will be uploaded showing the issue when I get car again

The 3M tape they supplied was legit? I have had experiences with variations of the tape. Some good and some sh$tty.

I'm not sure I'm not an expert I remember it saying something like VMB or VHB 3m on it...

This pic was from May 18th but it has gotten significantly worse. I should probably figure out how to take it off without running the paint and redoing it

The ones from Amazon weren't good. Local auto stores were great!

I have to take a smaller spoiler off my Miata this weekend before I sell to Carmax.

If it's like this and attached via tape please let me know your lessons learned and any suggestions on how to proceed

Since it's already lifting, try using a hair dryer or heat gun and see if it just lifts off entirely. Or else you may try to use some fishing wire as well to separate the tape from the paint.

As this is only a few months old, I would imagine it will come off pretty easily.
