Hi,

Can you please offer advice on 3 questions ?
My windows drop approx 3cm , (1 inch) when I turn the motor off.
How do I increase the volume of incoming phone calls ?
Can I get more powerful lights for high beam and is it possible to raise the beam slightly ? I do a fair bit of driving on winding country roads at night.
Thanks
Stuart Palecek

Z's have long dropped the windows when opening the doors. If it's happening when you shut the engine off, somethings wrong. Perhaps a sensor incorrectly detecting the door is open?

You can adjust the headlights a little, so they can be higher. Mine were low when the car was new, so I raised them, and it's so much better at night.
There are adjusting screws on the back of the light.

Shot in the dark, but it could be that the pinch sensor has lost its home.
- With the car on and the door closed, open the window all the way.
- Then flick the window button (auto-up).
Does it go all the way to the top, then bounce back down about an inch? If so the pinch sensor needs to be reset.

May need a warranty checkup.

This is how I reset the pinch sensor in my 350Z.
1. Crank the car.
!!! For #2, #3 & #4, don't hit auto up/down, just push/pull lightly for manual up/down.
2. With the door shut, hold the window switch until the window is fully DOWN.
3. CLOSE window, and continue to hold the switch for at least 5 seconds after the window is closed.
4. Hold the window switch until the window is fully DOWN.
5. Hit switch and release for AUTO-UP
This reset the sensor in the Z33, but it didn't work every time.

Volume

Only experience is wireless CarPlay. Pretty sure the CarPlay has a volume on its own, separate from radio, Sirius, etc... I haven't had issues with volume on calls and music through my phone. Listen to a few podcasts and most are fine, but I had to abandon one while driving because at max volume I still couldn't hear it over the sound of the car and AC.

Headlights

Reset sequence looked similar on my 370Z as well… I doubt Nissan changed it. Except:
#3. I hold the window close (up) for 10s
#4. I hold the window switch (down) until fully DOWN & continue to hold 10s
#5. Let go of all buttons & then Auto-up.
Test by opening door, getting out & closing door. That always corrected any issues with the slight window drop at door open & back up on door closed. You need to remember to do this if you disconnect the battery for any reason. If it doesn’t work, rinse & repeat.

On the phone volume, after you touch the phone icon, you are in menus:
Quick Dial, Phonebook, etc
There’s a Vol option for ringtone and calls you can control & it gets remembered.
If it’s Nav Vol, you need to adjust Guidance volume from that menu. Same for Apple CarPlay, you may need to adjust the guidance volumes in each app (e.g. Waze)

Finally there’s ā€œspeed sensitive volumeā€ which worked well on BMW business audio. I have no idea how the Nissan version works. It may also depend on your trim level, idk.
1. Touch [Settings] on the Launch Bar.
2. Touch [Sound]
Basically get to the menu that adjusts Bass, Mid, Treble, Bal, Fade, Loudness. It should be the last option. I’d try turning that on as it may help adjust volume for you with increased speed (which in these cars means increased engine & wind noise). šŸ˜‚
