Its a throwback to the silver rain “gutters” on the S30’s my man. Totally retro 240-280.
But why extend it past the side rear window? The S30 didn’t. I’m all for nostalgia and retro based ideas, but that doesn’t automatically make it appealing. Regardless of it being retro based, it looks identical to the styling of a Kia.

Personally I would prefer it without the "katana". Overall I still it think the side profile looks better than the Zupra. What was Toyota thinking when they decided to stick a boomerang onto the door...

Hmm yeah I think it would have looked better if Nissan had stopped it at the 1/4 panel window.

It's kind of growing on me -- I hated it at first. I might paint the katana gloss black.
love it or hate it, that katana is like a piece of flair...
the kia has the minimum amount, but the z has 37 pieces of flair and a terrific smile.
you can get a car anywhere, but at nissan its about fun...thats what the flair is for!

for those that aren't in love with the katana i wonder if removing it will be easy. like is it just a trim piece held on by adhesive?

That looks so much better to my eyes :D
that does look good too...
if i get one in blue, i eventually would want color match the roof to the body and leave the katana alone.
maybe even get wheels the same color as the katana...
