If the New Z was styled more like the Z32

God this is perfect. I lusted after the Z32 as a kid. I like the new Z styling a lot but what I really wanted was this!

The All-New 2022 Subaru WRX (Teased)

Which makes the absence of the wagon WRX all the more painful. If there's one automaker that has figured out how to sell wagons to the modern American public, it's Subaru. They could have made a WRX for people with "active lifestyles" that appreciate the extra cargo space of the wagon and the...

The All-New 2022 Subaru WRX (Teased)

For once I agree with Doug. Those wheel arches are just nasty. Bad. Wrong. Ughhhhh. Also, where's the wagon? I had a WRX wagon once and I'd buy another. Sedan? That's enough of a disappointment to get me looking hard at the Z.

    The Movie Review Thread

I know I'm late to the party, but I watched Dune a couple weeks ago and it absolutely blew my mind. Great soundtrack.

Who's going to modify the Katana?

It looks cheap and dated. It's the only thing that irks me about the car's aesthetics. Even if it is brushed metalized plastic and not chromed metalized plastic, I am taking that sucker off and repainting it gloss black on Day 1. Maaaaybe if it is truly a piece of real aluminum, I might keep...

2023 Nissan Z Brochure Catalog First Look! + Other promotional items!

Yeah, I figured whoever made the spec sheet meant to indicate "rotors" rather than "calipers," but that's not what it says, is it? The spec sheet is evidently of dubious quality and utility. I wouldn't rely on it.

2023 Nissan Z Brochure Catalog First Look! + Other promotional items!

The Nissan spec sheet must be using the terminology "fixed" and "floating" to mean the opposite of what everyone else understands it to mean... Otherwise you're telling me the big 4-piston brakes are using a sliding caliper like the type used on your mom's Buick? And the base model gets the...

2023 Nissan Z Brochure Catalog First Look! + Other promotional items!

Kind of shameful to offer a sports car with floating calipers, isn't it?

Nissan Z roadster coming? What about a T-Top, Targa Top, or Shooting Brake?

Breadwagon! I love it! Reminds me of the Z3. The shape gives you enough room for luggage to travel cross-country with two people, for one thing.

I spotted the 2023 Nissan Z on public roads today

Looks like it might have amber LED turnsignals in the rear. You can see a row of LED reflector buckets beneath the red brakelights, on the same plane as the reverse lights. Sad that the engine note is super quiet. Also the air-water intercoolers...

Which color Nissan Z will you get?

The new Z needs a classy medium brown or metallic tan. I also really like the Oxford Gray Pearl of the early 90s (see below). Gunmetal Gray is too pale.

Should Nissan bring back the 2+2 layout?

The extra space with the 2+2 would be much appreciated, and the longer wheelbase would improve the ride quality. Pretty much all the Z's competition is 2+2. It makes no sense why Nissan is bucking the trend.

Which 2022 Nissan Z trim model are you getting?

I hope you're right about the VR30, but it's open-deck vs. closed deck on the B58. I would go Base, since I'm confident the aftermarket can do everything the extra $5k can get you, and more for less.

Reliability/Cost of Ownership of the new Z?

Maybe if you live at sea level. Average elevation in the 10 western states is 4,950 feet. At that elevation, you're losing about 15% of horsepower without a turbo. That takes a Mustang GT, for example, from 460 hp to 390 hp. I'm excited for a turbo Z.

    Who wears the Katana better?

It's kind of growing on me -- I hated it at first. I might paint the katana gloss black.
