what trans do you think will be faster, the manual or this new auto?

what would the results be with the following...

60ft
1/8 mile
1/4 mile
1/2 mile
1 mile
to top speed

why? discuss...

Auto. Unless the manual includes no lift shifting. The super short gearing might hurt the auto in the 1/4 mile.

Those that say “but manual is more fun to drive” clearly don’t race cars. Maybe it’s more fun for you to drive to the local Price Club to pick your grandchildren up some cereal bars and get your wife some more oatmeal. These cars are meant to go fast, why keep them from going as fast as possible? There’s a reason the GTR doesn’t come stick..

Ditch your pop up headlights behind and welcome to the future of cars

Most people drive their brand new $40k car on the street, not the track, where a manual is still loads of fun and plenty fast. There are still a few new cars left that are a split second faster with a manual. We might as well skip the Z altogether and buy the fastest thing we can afford. Why keep ourselves from going as fast as possible?

Almost as yawn as driving an auto. That's what grandparents drive to go pick up snacks for their grandkids and wives. Oh, wait...

Holy shit, that was great. My guy shifting like he's in a Fast & Furious movie, living his life a quarter mile at a time. Love it
Your local bookie is now taking bets on how many weeks will pass before he needs a new clutch, or breaks the transmission.

What I know is that with the manual you are only going to need to shift 6 times while the auto will need to shift almost 10 times. So I think it will depend on the driver and as always luck. All I know I is the 7 speed was icky and always shifting down and up when I didn't it to. Even just thinking about getting the 9 speed almost makes me motion sick. I look forward to having complete control over my vehicle. When I win a race it will be not just my car but me too. So yeah I'm not getting an auto, and you won't catch me bragging that my cars computer shifted faster.

Boys boys…play nicely
Maybe people shouldn't be getting butthurt because someone has the gall to suggest that manual transmission sports cars are more fun to drive, while also pointing out that autos are faster, and then try being a smart ass to make the point that I already made... that autos are faster.
