I wasn't too sure if this mod was worth it but it is. I bought 20mm spacers from burger tuning since Z1 says they won't ship until August 😐. these were decently priced but also use 7075 aluminum and 10.9 studs, not that I think I need the extra strength but it's nice to have. Next up is lowering springs

I saw an old post where someone said they drive up on some 2x's and then they can get the floor jack under the front of the car to the central jacking point.

I come out to the garage and hmmm...I've got a long piece of 2x12 and some other pieces already cut to size. No joke, these were already cut these lengths. Sometimes being a pack rat pays off (potentially).

I tried to drive up on a piece of the 2x12 but the garage floor is slick enough that the car just pushed it forward. I guess I'll cut an angle at the front and see what happens. I was real excited to just screw some boards together but I guess that was gonna be TOOOOOO EASY. Lmaooo

Glue or nail some anti-slip mats or pads to the underside of the wood. Something rubber, or rubbery. The grippy anti-slip rug things come to mind; I have my tool box drawers lined with it.

I was thinking the same thing...but the only thing I have on hand is some leftover roofing shingles. Buuuuuut...a trip to Lowe's or HD might be a tick easier than trying to cut an angle on this 2x12, plus all the sawdust cleanup. You need to change your username to "Voice of Reason"

🍻😅

Well those are cheap enough! Everytime I looked at ramps, they were considerably more.
Yeah they're not too bad actually. I drive right over them in the Jeeps, but they're perfect for the front tires of low sports cars.

Gaging the time stamps here, it only took me a smidge over an hour, using wood I already had.

Gave me a chance to hang out in the garage with some tunes and use my Japanese pull saw...which apparently I broke a few teeth off of so I guess I need to buy a new one. They're cheap.

Dunno how much the middle "ramp" will help but it's the leftover piece I cut off the "stop." I had found a short piece of 2x so I just 45° (ish) it right down the middle to make 2 pieces.

And I only broke 2 crappy drill bits.

When I use it, I'm positive I'm gonna wonder why I didn't do this earlier. I could have used it on my S550s. Hope y'all don't mind the pics of those.

I could have cleaned up the edges better, aligned the sections better, drilled the screw holes nice and pretty...but I just wanted to get it done.

I started with 6.5 qts; I'll let you know what adjustment is needed from there.
@traska_rz34

Dorman aluminum oil pan: initial fill of 6.6 qts with a complete drain & oil filter gets you right to the max fill hole on the dipstick. 6.5 qts after this should be perfect, assuming a little residual left in the pan each time.

I'm gonna have to do this. After seeing how the car responded to the oil change yesterday, a little extra oil should help. I drove the Mustangs hard like I do the Z, but they hold 10 quarts. 5K oil changes under hard driving was still maybe a little early.
