hi all

curious if anyone has had to make warranty claims and moreso, how often / if theres an obvious warranty issue and if cars with mods (like an exhaust or tune) will immediately void warranty? anyone got experience going into the dealer with a abunch of mods ? lol
reliability is a concern when pushing power of course, and im new to Z (shopping for one) after driving a honda accord euro (amazIng car btw) for over ten years without any major issues

sidenote but unrelated, anyone rate/like the porsche cayman 918s and boxsters here? lowkey looking at those too haha and m2's

thanks!

I've spoken to Nissan Australia about it. As long as the mod didn't cause or contribute to the failure, then warranty will still be valid. ie if you changed your exhaust but your brake piston failed, you'd still be covered by warranty. To void your warranty, they will have to prove that your modification was the reason for the failure.

That's all I've heard too thanks for your reply

How do we or they prove something and is flashing a diff ecu / tune immediately voiding everything in one go since it's not running stock settings anymore haha?

Just read about some headblock issue now and wondering if this is the right buy..

Test drove the 718 Cayman and although more refined with more luxuries than RZ34 it felt underpowered were most of the power was at high rpm range. My friend bought a lightly used 718 😉, and just had his PDK service done $1600 us dollars and was not at the stealership. Im very pleased with my decision on a 26 Heritage. The M2 is nice, test drove that one also it felt heavier however it has more room than Z and luxuries. Im sure any repairs out of warranty are also going to be as expensive as the 718.

Dunno about the S model, Im sure it is a step above the non S model. But if your running around with that kinda money there are other options to consider. I would be more concerned with bore scoring from the Porsche than any head issue with the Z. Specially if you buy a “ lightly used adult owned never driven hard Porsche” 😂

I'm genuinely having a hard time to know what other options to consider haha but in my country a 2012 ish Porsche can be found for almost the same price as Nismo etc... Which I don't know if that should be the case but yeah

My family is very heavy Porsche and German car fanatics which I get hung on for wanting the Z etc especially at the price point

Any other cars you think are worth considering?

BMW M2 CS, Corvette z06, Lotus Emira, and if you really like the Porsche 911. Now they all have their weak points. It’s all a matter of preference and what you are willing to live with and afford.

Thanks I'll look into these and their failures
I think the Porsche 981 didn't have the bore issue in my research but I'm not sure

Overall, I still love the Z but my peers insist the "Porsche is definitely a better car" it's honestly getting on my nerves

But then again I've been loving and enjoying my Honda Accord Euro for 10+ years (Acura tsx) and I don't think they'd feel great about that either hahah

Appreciate your reply
Do you think I'm better off buying the Z new with warranty over a used modified one without warranty?

Get a good deal on a new one, most dealers have Z”s in stock at or below MSRP. Good luck
