I'm surprised. A BMW guy thinking about getting the Z and not the Supra or any of the BMW M series. Most BMW guys in your shoes would get the M3 or the M4.
Nope. I like smaller cars. That's why I love my M2. It's just the right size.

You can literally buy a 2024 performance right now, for roughly 40k. Brand new… I’d go that option. If you want a 2025… wait till December or January. If you’re willing to wait and save 10k +, without a doubt.
That's my thought. I could literally sell my M2 for $53K, get a Z Performance for $44K and pocket $9K.

One thing to point out is that on paper there are a lot of down sides to the Z. In track tests and comparisons, the Z just doesn’t cut the mustard. I’m sure you have seen all of the hate out there and I’m guessing this is part of your hesitation? (HOWEVER). The Z has such a deep history and following AND the bones are all there for greatness. With aftermarket support it is easy to make the Z perform far greater than where it sits from the factory. Nissan as a company isn’t in good shape and they still did what they could to keep it alive. It’s all Nissan through and through. On the contrary, Toyota has been in way better financial shape and they outsourced their two sports cars. Nothing against BMW but I was in Love with the Supra from the time I was 10 when my Dad picked up the first Supra Turbo in 87. The Mk 4 was my dream car for ever. When the new Supra came out and it was only Japanese from 20 ft away it disappointed me to the core. Back then, in 90 the “new” Z came out and then all the way through it was the other car to have. Such an amazing car. Even down to the titanium key it came with. To me, the new Z kept the dream alive and now it sits in my driveway. Slowly but surely I will have my Z untouchable by any stock Supra or M2,3,4. Etc. M cars are sick from the factory and very capable. But. You pay for it up front. I personally love making my car my own at the same time making it better and better in the ways I choose.

On top of that. Look around this forum. It’s full of people that are on the same team. We are respectful and helpful. Every other forum I’ve been a part of had a bunch of “engineers” telling you that you’re wrong and douche nozzles gaining their happiness by pissing in other people’s cheerios. I haven’t found that here at all. If you want a car that is an entry into an extended family of enthusiasts, get the Z and I personally think you won’t regret it.
Spot on @ VR30Infection !! I can almost afford to buy any car I want and I chose the Z Cars and the Z culture and love it. Thank U! My garage is open to any Z owner anytime:)

well said, im 100% with you on this also. The BMWs dont do it for me anymore. Would have to be a 2004 M3 MT or a earlier 2010s M3, before all the digital dash and single screen, crap.

Had a supra in my sights, i always wanted the 90s supra, but 110k+ now with low mileage, might as well get a 911 turbo. The Supra is great, but decided the Z was better.

Had a 240SX when i was young and Nissan has always built simple, well made sports cars. The Z does this and thats why its in my garage. I love driving it, far more than i did my hellcat challenger that i traded for it (also plus 1 on the Z for manual trans).

One day id like to get a R34 skyline, but we'll see.

So after taking the M2 on a very spirited drive today, I've decided I just can't part with it.

It may not be as sexy as the new Z but I'll be damned if it isn't more practical.

And as bad as the S55 engine sounds, it's just a monster.

Maybe down the road I'll get a Z.
