I just saw one on the way from work. Looks pretty nice; alot better in person than in photo. It definitely pops in real life.

I completely agree. Still not a fan of the soft top but they can look pretty clean regardless.

What was your experience with them?

It might be cool if they offered a hard top.
Agreed. Convertibles just look better with a hardtop to me. The E89 had one and it looked pretty decent. BMW said they went back to the ragtop to save weight. I would think that most people that buy Z4's brand new don't have any idea or probably care what they weigh and would rather have the aesthetics of a hardtop over weight savings. That's just my experience either knowing people that have bought any generation of them new, or from who I see drive these as new cars on the road. Seems more likely to be used as a DD or weekend toy rather than at a track, at least by the original owner. I almost picked up a E89 as an extra car at one point, but decided that owning two N54's is probably a bad idea.

That is a nice looking car. Yeah, I have no interest in a roadster or convertible as I want a good DD. Wish they made a regular coupe in this body style.

agreed
i thought it funny a couple years back when they announced the z4 could get a m/t, but the zupr4 wouldn't.

that was so bazaar to me because the cars demographics are so different.

Wouldnt a DCT makes more sense for the Z4?
