I had PPF done on the front end and rocker panels, then ceramic on the entire car. I'll echo what others have said that choosing a good installer is key. It was about $4K, which was still cheaper than what it cost to respray my 350Z with a zillion rock chips in the paint.

I'll be the contrarian and say I'm the one that doesn't do PPF or Ceramic. I ceramic coated my Hellcat in 2017 and it was absolutely not worth it to me. Paid close to 1900 for paint correction and a full ceramic coating plus the aftercare materials for it. I didn't have a garage then so the Hellcat was outside and I was constantly fighting off etching on the ceramic.

It did make the car easier to wash, but I felt like I had to wash it a LOT more to keep it looking OK.

I asked about PPF then too, and did when I got my Z as well, but here's the thing with me. I know myself well enough to know I'm not going to keep this Z forever and there's nothing "special" about it. It's a red, performance trim manual car. The quote to do full PPF, which I think you should do if you're going to PPF at all, was around 5k from every reputable place. That is about 10 really high end detail jobs spread out across 5 years and I probably won't keep the car that long anyway.

PPF is 100 percent a sunk cost to you. You will get zero value back from making that investment. It will not get you a higher price when you sell the car. It will not get you a higher trade value. If you get a ton of rock chips upfront, it'll cost you about 600-700 bucks at a good body shop to repaint and blend the front, so you could skip the PPF and repaint the nose of the car about seven times for what you'd pay for full PPF. You're purely doing it for yourself if you choose to do it. That is totally fine, of course! I just choose not too and spend that money elsewhere, on other mods where I also will not get my money back! lol.

I believe in PPF all day everyday. Over the weekend, had some gnarly wind and rain here in Phoenix and a campaign sign flew up and hit my car smack dab in the front. Only damage was done to the PPF and not the paint itself.

Absolutely worth it if you have the cash. Wish I had done that instead of ceramic. Ceramic looks great, but provides no protection from rocks and chips. I'll probably have it ppfd when the ceramic starts to wear off in a few years.
