My car has done only 5100 miles and my brake pads are done! When I brake the car vibrates vigorously. I took it to some garage and he told me the front break pads are 60% worn out and the brake disc needs skimming but he recommended that I change the brake pads first before doing the skimming .

I asked him is it just the front brake pads that I need or also the rear? He said the rear are mostly used for the hand brake you just need to replace the front brake pads.

If I only want to change the brake pads and nothing else, just I just stick to the OEM ones or is there any better brand?

I found this website, what do you think of them:

https://www.z1motorsports.com/brake...san-front-brake-pads-performance-p-35734.html

https://www.z1motorsports.com/brake...n-rear-brake-pad-set-performance-p-36673.html

or the official Nissan Store:

Me personally once I need new brakes I plan on getting some drilled rotors and ceramic pads. I just love the looks of them with thinner spoked sports cars. I have installed these Powerstop ceramic pads with rotor's kit on other cars. Here are the ones for the Z:

I have had good luck with this brand. Some people don't like ceramic pads though.

No problem if you don't want ceramic. I think the ones you are looking at if you want a quick fix / see if the pads are the issue OEM are good enough then. Looks like they are cheaper from Z1 too. I have never got anything from so can not comment on their buying experience.

Very strange though that you are getting that with only 5,100 miles and pads not even half gone yet. Make sure everything is tight. If something was a bit off that caused the rotors to wear funny like the garage said then getting them machined and making sure all is put together back correctly may be the only course of action.

I been using Powerstop Z26 pads for a while and for me they've been great.

Ended up buying them from the dealer directly, cost me 106 USD for the pair of the front pads

I kind of thought carmakers warranty these things for one year, 12k. Obviously something was wrong. You would have to be tracking it.

@labornurse Warranty for brakes and clutches can be iffy and often goodwill, despite abuse. The pads likely didn't bed-in and left an uneven transfer layer on the rotors. I've heard ceramic pads work almost exclusive by transfer adhesion hence the low brake dust.
