Is it just a bump in turbo pressure? I’m trying to figure out what it actually does so that I can figure out what strain the extra power is going to put on the engine, and when in terms of fuel delivery and RPM.

It's a piggyback tuning device that enhances your vehicle's performance by modifying sensor signals between the engine and the ECU (Engine Control Unit). It provides extra horsepower, torque, and sometimes better fuel efficiency without directly altering the ECU software.

Works within Factory ECU Safety Limits. It won't push the engine beyond its designed safety parameters.

Did you happen to take a look at the video that's posted on the items page? If not here it is. Has some good info and dyno numbers as well.

I have not looked at it yet, but will. It’s just hard to believe you can so easily do it without a custom tune and that Nissan didn’t do it already.

Is this the GTR engine? Maybe they keep it tuned down because the big dog gets the power?

Also, I have the 9AT and a member mentioned the Nismo had tranny mods for a very modest gain. Worried my Sport 9AT will get smoked running another 70hp and whatever the torque is.

Take a look at the video that will help out. The GTR engine is a VR38DETT the Z has the VR30DDTT.
All cars that come from factory are just mass produced and they don't want to take the extra time fine tuning as it's not really worth their time.

It's a pretty cool mod to do for not really too much money for extra HP and fun. let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks

So nobody here has looked at a $695 option to get 70hp and 90+ Ft lbs? OK. I was expecting everyone has done this.

With the sale going on it's only about $550. What's cool with ours as well is if you have other simple bolt on mods(intake, exhaust, ect) our tuner will go in and adjust the files and you can update the maps through the app on the phone. It's super convenient and easy. Also, you can adjust the different map settings on the fly through the app.

Is this similar to JB4 and tuner box that Vivid was promoting?

Yes. I know JB4 is most popular, but I trust Steve Millen more. Stillen was making OK cars amazing in my car magazines back in the 80’s when I was a kid. You know how that goes.

I had a Vivid box on my 2018 911, I bought the car new and at that time tuning was a pain as you had to send the ECU out to get flashed. I had the Vivid box for 4 year without any issues and the car ran great with a very noticeable power difference. Definitely a great option for someone who doesn't want to void their warranty with a ECU flash.

Apologize if I missed this, but how does this mod impact Nismo stats across the 3 stock modes? Is it safe to assume similar gains.

Here's a good video of installation. And an initial seat of the pants review.
Its probably a 10 minute install, very well explained over a long video.

He plugs it in -> then skip to 35min mark

How do these piggyback mods affect engine temperatures and oil consumption?
