I noticed that on my Nismo, that if I am in auto mode, the shift lights don't come on. However, if I am in manual mode, they do. I thought that the car was designed that way. But then I saw this video:

If you play the video at 9:44, it looks like the car is in auto (I don't see the paddles move at all), but the LED shift lights are also working.
Is there a setting I am missing on mine? Or is something wrong? Or possibly, is this a 2025 and they changed the programming for the shift lights to work in auto mode as well?
For the people with Nismos, do the shift lights on your car work in manual mode only, or in manual and automatic?

Thanks!

I just noticed another interesting thing.
The front bumper on the car showing on the youtube video above before playing it, has a different design compared to my 2024 or even the car that he's actually driving in the video. The aero / canards (or whatever they call them) on my front bumper are added on. In the picture above, they smoothened out the design and built it in to the bumper.

From 9:44, when it shows the dash, you can see he is in manual mode? Which is why on the top left of the rev meter, it's showing gear 2? Instead of D2.

Interesting…. I didn’t see the paddle or his hands move at all. I didn’t realize it was in manual mode, so maybe it’s in manual mode, and he didn’t shift, and he l computer shifted to avoid over revving the engine?

If you look closer, you can see his hand move slightly at about 9:57 when he shifts.

in this pic it looks same as Nismo Z front.

Yes - mine looks the same, 2025 Nismo in Red. The YT title image is photoshopped - or is a different front bumper. But when he’s driving it (and you pause) the front canards are stock.

The black stripe at the bottom on the Title looks too skinny and the split line below the ā€˜bump’ looks odd. Left is the YT Title image, right is my car.

Sorry to hijack a thread on shift lights.
For the record- Iā€˜m unable to see shift lights without being in Manual mode & paddle shifts.

The car will shift if you are in Manual and hit the rev limiter, ask me how I know. It will bail you out.

In the video there is green up shift indicator that comes up before it automatically goes into third. Your Nismo is fine. Enjoy it!! ;)

Yeah and it can down-shift for you sometimes when you aren’t on a Rev limiter. It did that on me recently, at least I think it did šŸ¤”

I've had mine do that too. It's always a good thing I've never gotten mad at it, it makes good decisions it's a great transmission that is in a lot of high end vehicles. A lot of Mercedes have this same transmission geared both more modestly and more aggressively.

I love that when I'm chilling it gets max fuel economy but when I want to get sporty it's ready for that action too. Best of both worlds!
