Thanks for the info. Access is gained by removing the cup holder or does the console have to come off?
The cup holder has metal clips. It can pop straight out separately. I’m concerned that if you’re worried about scratching… you may not want to attempt this. If you do, please only use plastic tools & follow the clip order in the diagram below.

On the 370Z (R34) you could just grab the cup holder & pull up (nothing was attached). On the RZ34, there’s the hatch release and the button that opens the armrest so it’s become more involved.

Here you go…

Thank you, I really appreciate the time spent putting this together.

I'll post the results if I go ahead with this...

@GCZ made a good point about a daily getting marked over time, I think we can all appreciate that, and, I realized what caused the damage today, as I tend to rest the arm near the shifter and a button on the long sleeve shirt catches that part of the console, so some damage is inevitable. And, yes, the material is soft as butter, which doesn't help.

If this is the least amount of wear on the interior then that would be good. But I have the Sport, with the fabric on the dash and doors, and I'm casting a cautious look at that too...
I have a Sport also and I had the seats replaced with Katzkin leather by a local car upholsterer. I asked them if they could replace the clothe trim as well and they did.

I'm pretty careful to not damage my car, so this really annoys me. The only thing that touches my console is a micro fibre cloth and a soft brush at the end of the vac. No rings, no watches, no coffee cups. So if you have not yet had this experience, be aware this material is pretty soft.

Any thoughts on how to repair/hide/protect this so it doesn't get worse?

If I were super worried about it I'd get some interior trim covers like these: https://www.thecarbonindustries.com...-center-console-nissan-z-fairlady-z-rz34-400z

Or these: https://boosted6auto.com/products/b6a-rz34-interior-trim-piece-covers?variant=44515719512195

What does something like that cost?

I know pricing may vary city to city 😎
Total with tax for all of it was $2524.25.

It was $250.00 more for the two tone seats so a solid color would have been about $275.00 cheaper. I thought it was worth the extra $$ for two tone.
