Following up on this post as it’s 3 months, does anyone know if there is or will ever be a remote start add on for this vehicle? Thanks
Only aftermarket or another car. If they do add it in a future Z, It needs a remote start module

Last time I did a remote start on my 93 integra 5sp was a Clifford G5 back in the early 2000.

I've emailed FirstTech (maker of Compustar) and I think the most I've gotten out of them is that they didn't have a car for development.

I'd like to have one for my 6MT, but to my knowledge there isn't a kit available. I do know an installer thats worked on a few of my cars before, and I've asked him about the similarities between the late model 370Z and the RZ34, but my guess is unless the wiring diagrams make their their way into the public aftermarket, there's no real way to evaluate using a 370Z kit to adapt over.
The wiring diagrams are actually online already.

I haven't looked aside from a few fsm dumps that have been posted on the forums. I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't all that difficult to do, but the main concern for me, would be the lack of a T Harness.

Best case would be not needing to sacrifice a key, remote start handover, and a T harness. I can check back in with my installer but I can't imagine a job like this will be as easy/cheap as an OTS solution for a preexisting car.

I could see it going either way honestly, Nissan not making many changes to things that would effect an operation of a remote start system, or them redoing a lot that creates a list of caveats.

Disclaimer: Don't go messing with anything on your car unless you know what you are doing, you can break something, injure/hurt/kill yourself or others, etc. I'm not responsible for your actions, this is for entertainment reading only.

I managed to find a pinout/install guide for a Compustar remote start system for a 2018-2020 370Z.

The remote start system requires you to tap into a few wires on the BCM side of things, those being:

12V
Ground
CanH (Can High)
CanL (Can Low)
Ignition
Accessory
Light off
Parking light (+)
Clutch
Lock/Arm
Unlock/Arm
Negative Starter
PTS (Push to Start)

I cross referenced the BCM section for the 370 and looked those up on the RZ34 side of things. So far I can tell that there are 5 main harness plugs on the RZ34 BCM, and 6 on the 370Z.

There's a black 3 pin connector that is absent on the RZ34's BCM. This plug is where the directions are showing to pull the 12v+ signal from on the 370.

I'm guessing since this is a simple 12V, that same wire just *might* just be repurposed into another plug, but without a Consult III subscription I can't find the pinouts to say for sure, I can only guess.

I can say though, that if wire colors are anything to go on, The Can H and Can L are on the same plug and in the same position as on the 370Z, they both match up to the black plug on the RZ34's BCM with a blue and pink wire respectively.

So, all that to say, if someone has access to Consult III and can pull up the pinouts coming out of the BCM that would help in determining if a remote start for a 370 can be refitted to an RZ34.

Edit: Forgot to add, just getting the system wired up doesn't necessarily mean it will work; the remote start bypass module still has to be programmed.

That means the real question here I suppose is whether or not their 370 Z firmware for the remote starter will work with an RZ34, or if it will see a version mismatch and refuse to initiate the remote start sequence. That will likely be the problem anyone will run into here. I have no way of knowing if its sophisticated enough to check the Can H and L and run a system check of sorts to make sure its connected to the 'right' car or not. This would have to be generic enough to work on all 370Z models of that year, but specific enough to know if its in or not in a 370Z.

What I see crazy with this car is as follows, my 17 WRX STi Limited I can unlock the vehicle as long as the FOB is in my person, no button to press just reach, grab, pull handle and door unlocks, to lock you can just tap/squeeze the door handle and everything locks. Now to my 25 Z you either have to physically push the FOB button or push a fucking physical button on the door handle, the Z seems as technologically advanced as my 11 Elantra. I don't quite see anything Intelligent about the Nissan key. Please someone make it make sense!!!!

To my knowledge all Nissan's do that, our Sentra does the same thing as the Z. Small sample size I know.

My 2024 Pathfinder did that, key in pocket and automacially unlocked and locked without ever touching any buttons. The Z is a sports cars and was completely spoiled by Nissan’s self driving tech and I had to adjust to everything being manual on the Z, including engine braking at spotlights. Nissan already does what you mentioned on other models but Z, I completely miss the Pathfinder’s pro pilot stuff that made the car drive itself and brake if needed on cruise control, also speed recognition. None of that’s present in the Z, even the back up camera sucks balls, I went from 360 intelligent view and being able to park perfectly fine to a potato cam quality that freezes. I saw in buyee a seller in japan that’s selling an upgraded back up camera, but

It’s intelligent on other models but then again the Z’s key is a downgrade from the Pathfinder’s flat silver key introduced in the 2023’s and up.

With that mentioned Nissan Parts does sell the virtual key equipment that works with your phone acting as the key. It was expensive and unnecessary on the pathfinders with the nissan connect app, but still the car doesn’t do half the stuff other vehicles in the line up already doing
