Some analysis, like Kevin Tynan over at Bloomberg Intelligence, think automakers will never return to pre-pandemic levels of inventory. GM CEO Mary Barra said as much earlier this year, according to GM Authority:

Auto Stop-Start is plain idiotic and I personally hate silly key fobs, especially the ones without an actual key! They get ruined over time with dings, chips, and scratches, and are massively expensive to replace. Just bring back a normal key that is easy to get remade (unless you lose it) for a few dollars at any key cutter store. Having to use your phone or smart watch or whatever is even sillier.

First of all, exhaust parts are not illegal. Blue/red lights on the front are, as well as these light bars on jeeps, etc. That's what they are talking about.

They are targeting these very low bass rattle cars. The distance is 25ft from the vehicle, and not the driver.

It literally says they're targeting "illegal" parts and loud exhausts at the end of the article. Any exhaust that modifies the sound to be louder than stock is in fact illegal in Florida. Not like the police give a shit there, as long as you're not driving like an asshole.

316.272 Exhaust systems, prevention of noise.—
(1) Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with an exhaust system in good working order and in constant operation, including muffler, manifold pipe, and tailpiping to prevent excessive or unusual noise. In no event shall an exhaust system allow noise at a level which exceeds a maximum decibel level to be established by regulation of the Department of Environmental Protection as provided in s. 403.061(11) in cooperation with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. No person shall use a muffler cutout, bypass or similar device upon a vehicle on a highway.

In other words, you cannot modify parts of an exhaust system, with the effect of producing excessive noise over 74 decibels.
