yeah nissan told me on the original carbon recaros it was something with the DOT and the side air bags needing to be able to burst the shell? something like that. I was confused as there are similar seats from porsche that are available in the US to my knowledge. but that the answer. these new skeleton frame seats are insane though for sure!

Thats lame perhaps people can order them from Nissan dealers in Japan and have them shipped over here?

Well yes you can Import the current carbon recaros for a little less than a Sport trim Z

while you are at it buy me a set

my sister works for recaro and sent me a link to a catalog and said she could get me a discount.

was gonna get something for the mkiv and one of my fd's. i'll check to see if they carry these gtr seats...

Closest thing out of a catalog will be what recaro calls a carbon back SPX avant. The NISMO is pretty much a repurposed OEM version of that SPX. Those list for around $8k a piece last I checked


I'm not sure what the 2024 seats with the individual padding are called.

Yeah I mean those are exaggerated a bit as they are import only and currently only available from Europe or Japan. But the individual GTR NISMO components are just stupid expensive by themselves. Replacement for front and rear bumpers are about 12k each and the specV exhaust from the 2015-16 cars is like $17k. The vented fenders on the 2020+ cars (which technically arnt functional) are like 7k a side

here are the coolest NISMO seats ever. I got to see in person and sit in the actual GTR NISMO that set the 2013 Nurburgring record. these were full bucket racing recaros. they could be purchased only as part of the N Attack Package
